I often walk with my friend around Healey Dell , it is a magical place with lots of history and wildlife, the different seasons offer something different.

Went for a birthday afternoon tea. This really is a hidden gem. We walked for about an hour, which isn't really enough time to enjoy the scenery. There were waterfalls, valleys, a viaduct, remains of an old mill and a bomb factory. We will definitely go again when we have more time. The afternoon tea was exceptional, one of the best I have ever had. The food was amazing, with sandwiches, quiche, macaroons, chocolate brownies among other cakes and, a special treat, marshmallows with a chocolate dip. Everything was delicious, but the staff made it special. They were brilliant. Nothing seemed too much for them. The tea room itself is lovely, with lots of vintage china, some of it for sale. I will definitely be back soon for a longer walk and another afternoon tea.

I enjoyed the nature and I'm Sure the the dogs did to. However one of the downfalls was that there was no bins in the nature reserve so we had to carry full poo bags and someone decided to dump there rubbish right at the entrance.

Some good walks around here. The tea room is lovely. Simple to book online and the staff were great. Outside dining is fab with a vintage twist and lovely location. Food was good with reasonable prices. Definitely be back.

The waterfall walk is beautiful. We went in autumn after heavy rain and the colours plus the raging waterfalls were fantastic even though it was wet and muddy underfoot. Take your walking boots. Excellent afternoon tea at the tearooms at one end of the dell don't be put off by the slightly grotty approach just before the tea rooms (old buildings and concrete walls). We need to go back in a different season and with more time to do the railway walk too. Great view from the viaduct.

Been here many times no issue. However recently there has been a lot of damage to the fencing and gates. And very recently at the Broadley Mill Car Park two local youths decided to take it upon themselves to damage trees and also my car amongst others. Be very careful where you park because there are vermin that live very close to this otherwise beautiful area.

We visited today for a cream tea followed by a walk round the nature reserve. What a lovely setting, tasty scone and friendly service. Very reasonably priced refreshments with free parking. Recommend visiting on a sunny autumn day to see the foliage in full bloom.

Well worth a trip out. Take your walking boots and a camera and enjoy the views. Tea room/cafe is excellent if a little pricey, no charge for parking.

Who knew such a place existed so nearby! Beautiful Waterfalls and scenery everywhere along this walk. Def no prams and not for younger babies or toddlers unless you use a sling. Highly recommend.

I write reviews that are succinct and helpful and do not bore you with every detail of my life.
1) If you are a walker it’s fantastic- five stars.
2) If you just want a quaint cafe/ tea room it’s five stars.
3) If you are taking children be careful:
a) Older kids ok, some severe drops and hard hills so probably three stars.
b) Very young children not really worth the effort.

There’s a decent map at the cafe and online, but it doesn’t show that many parts do not connect very well, so you’ll go up dead ends or you’ll walk up the very steep road that is a death trap for prams with lots of cars just meandering on a sunny day.
Also the wheelchair accessible (and prams obviously) viaduct path does not connect with the road so you’ll follow the map walk up the steep hill avoiding cars and then look at the viaduct which you can’t get to. The ‘pram’ path is not near the cafe which is where you will be tempted to park.

In summary it’s beautiful but disjointed- you need to know it. First time visitors will be frustrated.
