Authentic old country pub
Nov 2018 • Couples
Me and my partner love going to this pub during our walks and also whenever we need a bit of tradition. It almost feels like being at home. In summer, enjoy the outdoor gardens, in winter, stay close to the log burner. Don't forget the meat raffle on weekends and to ask for a bag of crisps and a pickle egg with your drink, simply a must!

Very worth the detour

Lunchtime when trundling down the M5 so looking for somewhere decent.

Found this (eventually) and what a gem. Really authentic old place, great beer, hearty food, open fire and very friendly locals.

Lovely very old pub
Aug 2018 • Family
Lots of character, good beer & cider and nice food served at lunchtime only (unfortunately). Lovely log fire in Winter, nice beergarden for summer. Very pretty and characterful from outside with beautiful hanging baskets and small play area for children. Well worth a visit (again and again!)

A real gem

Lovely old pub. Quite a favourite of mine as I met friends here regularly when I was younger. Good beer and ciders. Lovely in summer as seating outside. Good car park. Outside toilets can be a bit chilly!
Very friendly pub

Lovely pub just of the M5. Great selection on menu and specials board. Good beers too. Baguettes aren't cheap but all enjoyed our choices

Traditional Pub Experience
Aug 2017 • Solo
Based on a few visits, would categorise "the Kicker" as a friendly local traditional pub. Food limited, but baps are fine. Not particularly small child friendly (except in summer) which I'm ok with! Owners and most staff v.good, though when someone else is managing can be draconian and seemingly unfriendly. Beers very good though, and a good selection. Access and parking can be a problem, especially when events/music is on. Well behaved dogs welcome.

Excellent lunch!

Stopped off for lunch on our trip from Lincolnshire to a week's holiday in Devon - a really good experience - very friendly staff, excellent value soup (proper home-made!) & sausage/onion roll delivered very promptly. Pity it's so far from home!

A lovely place for a drink of an evening.

We popped in on the hunt for some good but they only serve food from 12 - 2.30 so we stayed and had a drink instead. A very old quaint pub but it was quite busy. A good range of ciders and some real ales too.
They had signs up saying about quiz night on a Tuesday and live music so will have to pop back there and see what that's like. They have a large parking area at the back and a few seats outside.
Worth a visit!

Ideal pub lunch.

Oh the joy of it. A proper English pub with a fire and locals. Such a joy to know this is really how the pub has been for a few hundred years. Great choice of soft rolls or if you prefer baguettes, inspired fillings and just what we wanted.

Dog walk destination
Oct 2016 • Solo
Walked over from Nailsea via Tyntesfield Saturday morning, arriving just as they opened at eleven. Enjoyed a lovely coffee in front of a log fire and a chat with another early bird. This pub has kept it's charm for as long as I can recall - and that would be the early 70's - and I truly hope it stays that way too. Excellent beer and ciders with a nice garden to enjoy too.
