- FMB2016Ilford, United Kingdom111 contributionsThis park has 3 different playgrounds, an outdoor gym, big lake, cricket and football pitches.Everyone can benefit from this park, we've been going there for 11 years and at every stage of our family's life the park is a perfect resource.Traveled with familyWritten April 15, 2016
- kamerakazLondon, United Kingdom49 contributionsBeautiful park with lakeLovely local park with facilities for all the family. There is a popular outdoor gym as well as basketball and tennis courts, large open green for football and paths for walking and cycling. There's a lovely lake that attracts swans, ducks & other birds. There is also a small wildlife centre where you can get info on the local birds and other wildlife. For children there are three play areas- one for very young ones near the South Park road/ South Park terrace entrance. Older kids can play in the enclosed area closer to the lake. A new activity area including zip line and mini trampoline can be found near the basketball court. The park is popular amongst the local community with many morning walkers, joggers and dog walkers. You also get the occasional cyclists. A couple times a year the park is used to host a fair. By KameraKazTraveled soloWritten January 31, 2017

Avoid this dump could be hazardous to humans. Goose facaes everywhere, unkempt bush areas with brambles etc. This place is hazardous to young children.
The london borough of redbridge should hang their heads in shame for there total lack of allowing this once beautiful park turn to a health hazard.

Always a lovely park, until they started growing weeds as you walk in from South Park terrace gates which look awful you can't just look straight over the lake anymore!!! you have kids being so rude and swearing at you when you have small children with you and these kids wouldn't let my kids play on anything, don't put anything down on the floor as the kids Nick it from you, couldn't believe that's what happened when this kid took my daughters bottle undone it and poured it out and threw away. That will be the last time I step foot in that park....Rude!!!!!!!

Its just the right size for a walk with the dog- A large path all the way around the outside around lovely trees a pond and gardens.
There are 3 kids play park areas- the best is the newest with a small trampoline and large climbing slide and swing and an Arial swing. There is a basket ball court and a gym area.
But beware- I have sometimes seen dead rats near the stream and I know the locals have an issue with them

Came here with my cousins and it was a beautiful park. We all played cricket in a large area and it was very local. It was a very enjoyable time. I would highly recommend it for young people looking to play sports because there is lots of space.

I spent many hours in South Park. Not too big, not too small, just right, beautifully laid out. It was always fun: my family played tennis, played basket ball or we were just lazing around. We had picnics, cycled around and went for a good run. We played on its playgrounds, using the swings and kicked the ball. We were happy. South Park! How does it sound? Even the name is beautiful.

I like the park & try to go atleast 3 to 4 times in a week... The tennis court & the gym is good... Very well maintained.. They have an information centre - where they can provide park tour giving information on birds & animals (upon request) which is very educating specially for school going children.. I just love my South Park...
