This watering point offers excellent real ale, you can either have a pint before taking a walk along the river bank, or return for one, after you have enjoyed the egrets and curlews on the mud flats beyond Shornemead Fort. The walk is very peaceful and it's a pity that there is so much plastic litter before you get to the Fort. I used to fish the river and the fresh water spots along this stretch many years ago, despite the litter it still brings back many memories. The staff at the S&L are very friendly.

Nice ales on tap and good bar snacks
Available. Friendly service and the bar staff where very knowledgable of the area. We brought our children who really enjoyed looking over the sea wall at the boats with the hope of seeing the whale. Will return for Sunday lunch now I seen the pictures and reviews of it. Thank you for making us welcome.

I went here for a pub lunch. The food itself was very good; home cooked and service was very friendly. It seemed like a real 'locals' pub and in desperate need of a lick of paint. It had lots of interesting model boats and other things to look at, which broke up the general run down feel.

A group of us went to the Tapas night, the food was very tasty and good value for money. The jug of sangria was excellent. I will definitely be going back.

If I'm on my own or with my better half. I'm / we are made to feel welcome. The friendly staff and amazing food, makes for a brilliant experience. Nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended

What a great little pub, Popped in for a drink after a walk along the river but after seeing the amazing roasts coming out we decided to stop for our Dinner and boy we weren't disappointed, can honestly say it was one of the best roasts we have had out, and the Staff are amazing, couldn't do enough for us, will definitely be returning

The best Sunday roast I’ve had for ages. Couldn’t eat it all, had a good try though. Socially distanced and all safety measures taken.
