Was attending the area for Banger Racing at Hednesford Hills Stadium and booked a 2 night stay in an en-suite double room. I was greeted by Manager Chris, who quickly checked me in and showed me to my room. The room was clean and tidy, large with a very comfortable bed. The en-suite was clean, with a good shower and complimentary toiletries. Free car parking in the pub car park and good Wi-Fi included. They do not serve breakfast, but there are other eateries within a couple of minutes walk. Highly recommended and I will definitely be staying again. I had dinner in the restaurant on the Saturday night (Southern fried chicken strips to start, followed by Mixed Grill). They had run out of a couple of items on the mixed grill, but offered me either a different meal or to substitute the out of stock items for something else which I did. The meal was freshly prepared, was of great quality and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended and I will definitely eat here again. I had drinks in the pub on both evenings. They have a huge selection to choose from and very reasonably priced. The back room has pool tables and dart boards and there are tv screens, showing various sports. The pub is family friendly and pet friendly. The staff are all very nice, helpful and friendly. Manager Chris, was very helpful and friendly as was barman James, who both must be singled out for praise. The Hen House is definitely worth visiting and highly recommended.

This is our local, we frequent it often... 2 or 3 times a week. Today we decided to try the Sunday roast as it always smells so good. OMG it was so delicious, hubby had beef plus extra pigs in blankets, I had nut roast. The veg was perfect, roasties crispy, mash spot on, in fact the beef was good too, no gristle. It was 100%. Job well done Ryan and Al. Thanks for the drinks and service too Cheryl. We're blessed to have you all just over the road xx

When we initially arrived there was a scuffle out side. Turns out the locals were ejecting someone who was being untoward towards children. Which shows morals and character. The room was of a very decent size, we had 2 dogs, and I can confirm I was able to swing them both very spaciously. The room had all the amenities you needed although the shower is slightly bipolar. The staff in the bar down stairs were more than accommodating and polite. There was music until around midnight and although I had work the next morning, due to the atmosphere I also stayed up until midnight to enjoy the music. Over all we had no complaints. Lovely staff, lovely room, lovely locals and free entertainment. I'd 100% stay here again.

I drink here quite often as it's round the corner from my house but never eaten here before. I went today with my daughter, mom, sister and her dog. The food was amazing, so tasty, super hot and value for money, really big portions and the chips are to die for. We all said we will definitely eat here again. Staff really friendly, got my sisters dog a bowl of water. Fab

This used to be such a lovely pub. But now since it’s been taken over by Mike it’s absolutely awful. He enjoys getting involved in peoples business and enjoys creating drama. A few of the staff are rude and will do anything for a bit of attention. Would not recommend this pub.

We attended for Sunday Diner having booked a table for 12 noon. We were on time and told to sit wherever we liked there was not a set reserved table., we were given menu's but not informed of the options for Sunday Lunch and had to chase up the staff. Unfortunately we did not get our food for at least 30 minutes after ordering. The food itself was very nice and hot, a full Sunday Diner with mash and roast potatoes and a good size. We managed this and desserts each. We have eaten here before and were pleased to see it was the same Chef as we knew the food would be good, however, the service needs a bit of improvement.

Me and my partner love this place. The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff are always so welcoming with smiles on their faces. The food here is amazing, and very generously priced. It's become our new favourite place! Cant praise the chef and bar staff enough, best place to go in hednesford!

Birthday meal on the 10th August with the family. Ordered food came swiftly and was top notch. The kids menu is fantastic and the staff were very friendly and accommodating to certain allergies. Would highly recommend.

Arrived for a friends 60th birthday surprise party and felt most welcomed by all the staff and although we only had soft drinks due to driving we noticed that the drinks were cheaper than most places. A good time was had by all. Well done hen house for a good time. Enough said.

Ate there for the 1st time on Saturday. Great chuncky chips (definitely not from a from a frozen pack like most pubs)and lovely butchers cut gammon. You can see the chef makes an effort. Would definitely recommend eating here.
