Monkey Haven is amazing. The work they are doing here with rescued animals is first class. The place is spotlessly clean and the animals are well looked after. The keepers seem to know all the animals by name and are very dedicated. There is a...More

Only a small place but we were there over 2 hours and our kids are hard to entertain teens!! If you have smaller kids I would imagine you could spend half the day here. Reasonably priced and good parking

After going to Longleet and having my car destroyed by monkeys I tend to hate them. Monkey haven in Newport was going to be a big test. Happily this was a much better experience. Staff are friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable. There are different times...More

We spent a Wonderful afternoon here even though it was a bitterly cold day! The animals are obviously extremely well cared for and very happy even considering the circumstances that have brought some of them to Monkey Haven. The whole place was extremely clean &...More

The fabulous reviews for this place are entirely justified. It is so obviously well run by passionate and dedicated staff. All the animals are healthy and well cared for, the entire site is spotlessly clean, and the keeper talks are friendly and informative. Even the...More

We did wonder if any of the residents would be visible when we visited on a grey and slightly drizzly day, but in the event had a lovely visit. Monkey Haven had excellent signage with clear information about the species, but in particular I loved...More

My 3yr old, 8yr old & 12yr old loved it. Was a beautiful day though ( which always helps ). Just take two umbrellas, problem solved. Has a nice play area also.

Yes. The area is outdoors and is relatively flat. Ramps are used instead of steps so all the monkeys will be easily seen.

What are the must-do and must-see attractions on IOW (5 Replies)
Hi, we are a family of four who will be staying in a self-catering cottage in Colwell for a week at the end of July. We have a car, we haven't booked a ferry yet but I think we'll be coming Lymington to Yarmouth. The kids are an 8 year old boy and a girl who will have just turned 13 by the holiday. I've had a quick look on tripadvisor but it lists 166 attractions and we are only staying 7 nights. Both kids like animals, but not history or historic houses, so one thing will be Monkey Haven,...More

Ask your children - get them googling. They won't agree with each other, of course, so you will have to act as referee.
