The Pinkpop on 3rd June 2017 which we attended was great, amazing & truly awesome! Thoroughly enjoyable despite heat & warm showers from the changeable weather. Our feet hurt, soaked shoes
& awfully soaked hair but the shows
were amazing and we were "oblivious" to muddy grounds or our soaked shoes.. FYI, we did not have any drink (alchocol)😀.
We went to Landgraaf by taxi - The taxi company is called Omega/Alfa - they were trustworthy & efficient with reasonable fare.
At the Pinkpop, there was no queue but only a very huge crowd of people. We joined in the crowd (Thankfully, ppl were respectful & keep a good distance) and the crowd moved very slowly to one direction which we assumed was the entrance gate but alas, it was not and the direction of the crowd turned & we were motioned by the crowd towards a small fenced tunnel gate entrance which we saw only when we arrived at it & were scuffled into it - found ourselves passed by a ticket contoller. Then, we entered a 2nd fenced tunnel entrance whereby the contollers checked our bags/belongings.
Thereafter, we found ourselves as in the Pinkpop ground where tents of stages were built, a few rows of small pop-up shops for food, drink & souvenirs a.o.
Water was free with request for a donation.
To get food or drink, coupon system applies. Pff! A real pain!
Security? Pushing and squeezing did happened at one part of the evening & needless to say, it was just before Justin Bieber's concert, when those with a JB's bracelet were given priority to enter a barricade space near to the stage. Perhaps only 50 ppl has the bracelets but the chaos was great. The mgmt of Pinkpop should realized that it was not wise to kick out everyone in that area and re-enter (What's the point!). These are all kids (10 yr old - 15 yr old mostly) and they had to be in danger of getting stampered on, squeezed by the crowd etc (Got it?)
Good entrance security but very poor management security for re-entry.
Therefore, rating 1 (lowewst) to 5 (highest), i rate the security of Pinkpop as 2
Overall, i give it a huge 4 for the great show & experience.

We came from the Canary Islands to visit the Pinkpop festival in June 2016. We visited many festivals around the whole world, but an organization like Pinkpop we've never never seen before. Everything was releaxed and the security was great. Safety first. Well done organization. Also good good music. See you next year.

Well organized, nice location, big stages with a lot of space for the crowd and was very easy to access.
Toilet facilities are clean and modern but not too many so they get to become overcrowded.
Food and drinks are many to choose from and reasonably priced.
Great bands playing, very nice atmosphere!

We flew from Dubai to Amsterdam to go attend this festival. We loved the line-up but we were there mainly to see pearl jam. They did not disappoint and it was a dream come true. The atmosphere was great and even though it was a massive crowd, everyone felt comfortable and left safely without any issues.
The drive to Landgraaf was tough because of traffic from Amsterdam but we stayed in a little hotel not too far from the festival venue. We got there late so we had to park pretty far but with the great weather, it was a nice walk.
I would definitely recommend this festival.

**** The Bands: Really great compilation. Something for everyone!
From young to old, from rock to pop everything.
***** The location: perfect, nothing to complain about.
**** Camping: (Here Camping C) really nice place, with everything you need. Even toilet so with flushing, sink and showers. Supermarket, lockers and reception - great!
**** showers and WC (at the campsite): really clean for the amount of people. Have also been cleaned regularly, but far too few showers (only 36 pieces). Also Dixi toilet houses (just not as great as a real toilet).
**** Environment / waste (at the campsite): Very well solved, everywhere waste bins, and at the beginning you got garbage bags.
** Environment / Waste (festival grounds):
Something urgently needs to be done !!! Everyone, threw his thin plastic cups on the floor. The whole area looks like a garbage dump. There was also no evidence that the cups are made of environmentally friendly material, and you tried to get some people by collecting the cups (50 pieces = 1 coin (equivalent to 2,80 €) to curb the cup flood.
My suggestion = more massive cups that are used for e.g. € 3.00 (deposit) and if you bring this mug back you get in exchange again a new beer (and does not have to pay the cup again) or you can give it back at the end and get its € 3.00 back. Advantage would be no throwing the cups away. The food was better organized, no plastic dishes but cardboard, almost always in the designated trash can brought (ok, idiocy and anti-socials are always there)
** Parking: It was ok, but the price was - considering the price of the tickets and the price for camping - an impudence !!!
*** Crowd Management: Here you have to differentiate, many were very nice and helpful and also gladly explained what they did, and why they did it.
But some of them have performed like Rambo for the poor. So we had placed ourselves on the last day in a heavy rain with many others (Stage 4). Since the rain was so heavy and was driven by the wind into the hall, some of the visitors had preferred the plans to protect themselves from the storm. (I realize the exits need to stay open) But the way, like two of the aides acted here and pushed the spectators aside without consideration and the wet plans poured out without warning over the spectators standing there - was absolutely ridiculous.

Festivals not my thing( wrong side of 50) but I was very wrong. 6 of us went, age ranging from 18 to 50 plus, stayed in campsite B and had a wonderful time. Booking for next year as soon as tickets on sale.

I said it before, I will say it again. I am not a great fan of pink, neither I am of pop, however, this festival was really nice to attend. The Greta Van Fleet, why I came in the first place is a true knock-out and maybe next year organizer will realize that these guys should be on the main stage. Festival itself is well organized with a variety of food and drinks, we did not wait long for anything, but as in the title, trash is a big problem there. Almost no trash bins and on the last day of the festival you could not see the floor from all of the junk and plastic. Well, who knows, maybe it is a Dutch way?

The campsite opens at 18:00, is it worth coming in advance to take a queue or will it be OK at 18:00? I'd like camping B. I will also be glad of any advice on the trip, this is my first festival
If we stay at a hotel in Epen is there an option to get a taxi or Uber over to the Pinkpop festival?

What is the typical price of food and drink?

About €2.80 per coin/consumption ticket. Increases every year though. Small things like one beer cost one coin. Food cost 2+ coins.

The nearest hotels are in landgraaf but the most change you have in Maastricht or Heerlen. The public transportation is very good by train or by bus. Be on time to book a room. There are also campings on the entrance of the festival terrain.
