I think you could only do this in summer, but it's a fab spot - particular if you take the 3 trains up, the furnicular railway, the little train and final lift to the top. We went via the Mont Blanc Express from Martigny (another amazing ride). Best to go on a clear day to appreciate the views across to... More

Take time to walk around the lake or take a full day to walk up to a hut - magnificent! Great walk through the tunnels.

We have driven up here and for those not used to the one car serpentine roads, it can be a bit frustrating. Once there however, the view is breathtaking and it's so fulfilling just to be there and walk around. You can either just stay at the "duvet" and have a drink or go hiking around. Either way it's well... More

You schould only go there in summer, because it is very high and otherwise, you would feel too cold. Have a walk there to see de dino steps. Pay attention, it is a long walk and not so easy, but it is lovely.

What can I say... views are spectacular, transport is fun, funicular is amazing! We really had a fun afternoon. Restaurant at top had great coffee and hot chocolate. We will be going back to find the dinosaur tracks.

Super impressive ride up the mountain with breath taking views!! First the very steep feniculaire train then the small access train and finally the small feniculaire train up to the Emosson barrage and the views to the Mont Blanc and the alps!!

A rugged, narrow-roaded drive was almost a rehearsal for the funicular-train-funicular ascent up to the Emosson Dam. Tickets for the newly-reopened Verticalp are needed at all points, so hold on tight to them as the journey starts its steep climb. It is the steepest funicular in the world. On the first landing, one can have refreshments and look at the... More

All the way up the val de Bagnes: beautiful aby time of yet. I have skied up to the barrage in the winter, hike there in the spring fall and summer. I've also hike around the lake in the summer, it was a grueling hike and i highly recommend it! Not too much elevation but very long. You can easily... More

The colour of this artificial lake is outstanding. It surpasses many natural lakes in the Alps. Looks like the water is totally glacial giving it this bluish green colour.
