Any walk in this area is a treat. It is like a mini-Lake District, except the mountains are higher and the lakes smaller. You have to take a taxi into the National Park where it is situated at a cost of 8 Euros return, If you don't have your own transport, you also have to pay 20 Euros to get from Salardu to Banhs de Tredos where the above taxis go from. But it is definitely worth it.

This hiking was one of our best days during our vacation.
During the summer a taxi brings you to the starting point.
You climb about 40 minutes until you get to the dam where you can find the Refugi de Colomèrs.
When we where there the lake at this dam was quite empty and still it was very impressive.
From there we took the shorter route - about 3.5 hours walk - which was not so easy but reasonable hike with wonderful views which is called 7 lakes.
This is a full day activity and was very enjoyable.
We recommend taking this hike, we simply enjoyed it. You walk in the nature and see several lakes and other kinds of nice mountain views.

As far you go to Vall d'Aran, don't hesitate to visit this place.You can chose two options depending on your personal shape, both are great. A 3h or a 6h walking trip around fabulous lakes, high mountains...
But even the easier option, is not a place for kids of less than 3 years of people with any physical difficulty.

Walked the shorter trail of circ de colomers today. Absolutely beautiful. 3.5 hours/8kms. We took our 11 year with us and he did it easy. Some challenging short rocky climbs and plateau walks (2300 metres). Good shoes and hiking poles a good idea. Taxi/vans to take you to the begining of the climb from the highest car park you can drive to are well organised and Only 4Euro each way for adults, 3Euro for kids. Take a small picnic and a good camera. Not one to miss if you are in this part of Spain.

Don't miss the "seven lakes route". It's a circe route that takes around three hours. One of the best natural areas in Catalonia.

I did the route dels 7 Estanhs de Colomers with my partner yesterday, and I have to say that it is worth doing since the views you have are spectacular. The thing to know before making it is that you have to go up to the refuge des Colomers and from there start it.

El parking al que llegamos con el coche lo encontrarás si pones en maps “ Balneario Banhs de Tredòs” ahí mismo están las furgonetas que te suben arriba. Hay gente que hace ese tramo caminando y luego baja en taxi, nosotros por tiempos decidimos subir y bajar con taxis. Un saludo.

Hasta el parking puedes sibir con el coche. En octubre no habrá problemas de plazas, pero una vez aparcas el coche hay 6 km hasta el comienzo de la ruta y eso solo con taxi. Salvo qur quieras hacerlo andando

Yo creo que aunque al ascender por la ruta vas ganando en altura, no hay grandes acantilados ni zonas areas desde la que se contempla el desnivel de forma abrupta, en las que puedas sufrir de vértigo...
Eso sí a la vuelta te recomiendo que bajes por el mismo lugar...porque si que hay otra ruta de vuelta (la que hicimos) que aparte de ser más larga, si tiene alguna zona donde es más la sensación de altura.
