Beautiful Little Place with Good Restaurants and Great Views
Oct 2019
The Greeks and Romans established a town here at this magnificent location and the tiny hamlet now boasts 4-5 lovely restaurants in a delightful square full of ambiance. Great place where you can relax and enjoy a tapas meal and drinks with friends and family. The sea views towards Rosas with the Pyrenees beyond are spectacular. It gets very busy in peak times (July and August) so try to visit off season for the best customer service.

Tour highlight
Oct 2019
A trip to St Marti d’Empuries village is one of the joys of Northern Costa Brava. Great atmosphere at anytime, maybe too busy in , but fantastic with a choice of super restaurants. Fabulous people watching place and lovely stone village.

San Marti is a cute yet impressive town. Very typical of this part of Spain. Located near the antic ruins (that I recommend visitng as well).

Nice relaxed beaches
Aug 2019 • Family
This location has beautiful sandy beach sites. Excellent beach-bars and sun chairs. The sea is easy accessible also for small kids.

All in all a great place for a day (or more) at the seaside.

The site has been inhabited since the Greeks continually. The church was beautiful and simple. The town showed the remains from the past (no indication when the walls were built that we could find. Nice beaches.

Sunday 10th November St Martin's Day
Nov 2018
This day is the most memorable day to visit this beautifully preserved old hamlet. The locals dance to the tunes of the orchestra the dance of The Sardanas on the old church parvis. Everyone is welcome to join in. Time changes nothing here. The setting and the whole area is part of UNESCO Heritage.

Lovely little seaside hamlet with restaurants and well-served beaches.

Lots of character here (although it will definitely get busy in the high season). The twin attractions of the tiny historic village directly by the beaches (with further beach cafes). Lots of appeal!

Quaint and ancient

Went for a evening stroll amongst the sand and sea. Lovely quiet area where we enjoyed a beach bar . Ancient ruins on the site dating back to both Greek and Roman times. Nice sense of history.

San Marti is a delught
Jan 2019 • Friends
We have been to San Marti many times over the years. It is an old small village gathered around the church, and sitting up above the sea. Although small, it has four restaurants in the square, each offering inside or outdoor eating, which with plentiful heaters make for comfortable surroundings even in winter. Walking back to L'Escala through the woods and by the sea can be a pleasant end to a memorable evening.
