This is not a museum of Cadaques.
It is an exhibition of photos (snaps), not artfully taken, by someone who was around Dali for a short while.
There was no commentary available that the other reviews refer to.
Do not visit unless you are escaping the rain and have 5 euros to waste.

I could live in Cadaques, truly. On our trip through Northern Spain we only allocated one night here.
The experience is truly unique. The restaurants and sights are one of the best we experienced on our trip. The townspeople are wonderful and the pastries are are beyond belief.
This is the home of Salvador Dali which creates some interesting true folklore stories. Since he lived in our lifetime the enchantment is exciting.
This village is nestled on the Mediterranean and surrounded with vineyards.
The winding road with its curves to the townsite is a safe but slow drive with wonderful views of the region, from snow capped mountains to the beaches of the Mediterranean. Upon your arrival all will understand and also desire to live In Cadaques.

We enjoyed this attraction very much. It is comprised mostly of photos taken by Joan Vehi however it has furniture and artifacts made by Joan Vehi (he was a carpenter who became a photographer). There is also a very informative video shown on a large screen interviewing Joan Vehi which runs about 15 minutes. It is shown in different languages which is nice as you let the attendant know which language you desire. The photos are of Salvador Dali. his friends, visitors and some of his activities. Very informative and interesting. It is well worth the 5 Euro fee per person. Photography inside this attraction is not allowed.

We popped in here not knowing what to expect. Cost was 5 euros each. Tbh you don't get much for that. The exhibition, rather than museum, were of photos taken by Dali's friend and carpenter Joan Vehi. Some were interesting, maybe not one if you are a cat lover. I liked that one.
Another missed trick was that the photos had no english translation on them so a lot where unclear as to the scenario. There was a dvd playing which had an english option which shed some background on the man though.
Exhibition runs until October and is worth a look but dont expect too much.

We visited this museum which at the moment has some fascinating photographs taken by a local man who knew Dali for many years and worked for him. It's really worth watching the commentary which can be seen with English subtitles as it helps explain the photographs. These photos I feel show us something of Dali the man as well as Dali the artist

We visited the Museum which at the moment has a photo exhibition of Dali's Carpenter, who was also a photographer. He made the painters frames, lots of the furniture at Pt LLigat and had access to Dali and Gala in intimate surroundings. The photos are a reflection of their life and a video of his recollections gives a remarkable insight into the great surrealist painters life.

There was an exhibition on Dali, Duchamp and Man Ray. I found it of only passing interest and would have much preferred to see and learn more about the development of Cadaques. The exhibits were spread over three smallish floors, linked by a central staircase. We spent about 30 minutes there. There was an information sheet in English, but again that wasn't of much interest. Only recommended for those who have a deep interest in these artists.

We thought it was poor value for the entrance fee we paid. We were given a written sheet in English to aid us but found it very disappointing. Dali fans may appreciate it we did not. Out of the box stuff that was interesting to a point though. At least we kept dry during the rain shower! Not a museum at all in the normal sense. This brief exhibition is all there was there.

The museum is quite small but provides an interesting commentary on Dali and some of his contemporaries such as Duchamp and Manray. The exhibits give interesting insights into the life and times of the Surrealists in particular times spent around Cadaques.

If you are in Cadaques as part of a Dali homage, this museum supplements very well the main house and village. It provides a nice context to Dali's time time in Cadaques and relationship with contemporary artists who spent time in his town.
