We are staying in playa blanca on Lanzarote and we took the very expensive fast ferry across to Corralejo. My advice is don’t waste your money. The place is a dump. Lots of graffiti, run down areas, strip joints and bars that appeal to the Benidorm/Blackpool brigade.

Lovely town, great shopping, lots of great bars and restaurants but no sun beds or umbrellas to hire on the beaches due to permit disputes. So if you don’t want to spend a week lying on the Rick hard sand, stay away from Corralejo!! Very disappointing. Never been to a holiday resort where you can’t hire sun beds and umbrellas. The wind is pretty strong and you need an umbrella so you don’t burn.

pretty local harbour with a vast array of small, medium and large sailing vessels to look at.
Trips to Lobos Island can be booked at various stalls in the harbour, from the glass bottom boat to water taxi...amazing fun!!!!

Strange to see this normally busy port so quiet.
Still has the ferries coming in and out, but not as full as usual.
No tourist traffic or activities either.
Plus only a few restaurants open, hopefully will start getting back to some sort of normality soon.
The brilliant views are still there though.

Lots to see. Book your water activities - panel boarding, jet ski, ferry crossing etc.
Lots of restaurants nearby. Sit and watch the world go by on the resting places.

The port in Corralejo is a pretty and quite place.
There are some bars near the port although most stretch to the beach side.
It is tranquil and the sea is full of fish in the port. The fish are visible from the waters edge. See my pictures.
You can participate in several water sports from the port and the tour guides are selling tickets all along the main part of the sea front.
You can also take a catamaran to the Island of Los Lobos or a ferry to Lanzarote Playa Blanca from here.
It’s a nice walk.

My first time in Corralejo and I so loved the resort. This sea front walk from the Corralejo Beach Hotel along the sea front was so nice. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to stop at if you need a break. I would walk along the sea front and sit on one of the many benches and just enjoy watching the boats and the large ferries. We did catch the ferry to Lanzarote one day and that was a lovely trip. The harbour/marina is a little gem away from the main hustle and bustle but just a short enjoyable walk to escape from the various shops. I thoroughly enjoyed my walks there, both day and evening times.

Starting point for catching ferry and or a taxi boat to other islands and having fun with all the activities they offer. Plenty of restaurants out there, next to the pedestrian zone.

A working port and Ferry terminal from Lanzarote. Plenty to see in the harbour. The local school has "lessons" every morning teaching the kids to kayak, sail etc. Wonderful to see how competent and confident they were.
Quite a few harbour side Cafes, the "touristy" ones being more expensive (of course). We found the ones the locals use, especially the one at the huge blue painted warehouse being excellent. (Dont worry - its much better than it sounds. Go see.)
The only disappointment is to see the amount of litter that is thrown down into the rocks surrounding the harbour etc. No need for that - there are LOTS of waste bins everywhere.

We loved walking down to the harbour/port area. So many bars and restaurants to choose from. Or you can just sit on the beach or a bench and watch the boats coming and going.

Yes, we came on the ferry today and got straight in a taxi. There were only a couple that we could see though.

Enjoy Corralejo!

Any idea how much a ferry crossing is costing for a foot passenger this summer?

The cheapest return fare we found was £32 from Corralejo to Lanzarote. If you decide to travel, please remember to take your passport. Photo ID is required.

I’m looking at holidays from my husband and his friends, they are in there 40s but don’t want to quite would Corralejo be suitable

I stayed at the Riu Tres Islas in the sand dunes national Park, it is great place for relaxing but it is very quiet. Not far, Corralejo is a pretty place with bars and restaurants but if you want lively I would look at Tenerife or Gran Canaria.
