After seeing photos of this place we decided we’d walk up there. It’s a fair walk in the heat but nothing too difficult. As well as the little castle up there was a restaurant were we had a well deserved cold drink with amazing views.

Fantastic place for walking - I spent ages exploring the trails. Nice wee cafe at the castle too. Need to be careful with some of map boards as the "you are here" marker isn't always in the right place : )

From the land side, this area looks rather scrubby and uninviting, but once we got off the main track, it became much more interesting with masses of wild flowers, including wild gladioli and several others that we didn't recognise. We also heard lots of bird song. The first time we visited was from the end by Sa Coma beach and we walked up to the castle at the top where there is also a well-patronised cafe. The second time, we approached the area from Cala Millor and found quite a different landscape of sand dunes. This time we ignored the castle area and followed several minor tracks across the dunes. We were even lucky enough to spot a Mallorcan tortoise which obligingly stood still so we could photograph it!

You can make this walk as easy or difficult as you want. If you stay on the main road (directly to the castle) it's a quite easy walk. If you prefer real nature and nice sea views, it's best to walk near the sea and over the rocks. We have spend few hours walking and having a drink in the castle's bar.

The Nature Park of Punta de N’Amer is a peninsula between Cal Millor and Sa Coma. It has a watchtower with a moat (despite the title it hardly qualifies as a castle). It’s possible to ascend the tower from the inside, and get beautiful views over Cala Millor. Unfortunately, in summer, cars come up the track, rather spoiling the walk, and proving to be hazard should you walk with a dog.
At the foot of the tower is a cafe/bar, fine for a drink, but don’t expect too much choice on the food menu. There is no table service, you order food and drinks at the bar, pay up front, and get a number. You find a table either out in the open in the sun, or under the porch in the shade. Then your number will be called, and you collect at the bar and take it to your table. Incredibly, table numbers are called in German - too bad if you only speak Spanish, English or something else! Food is basic, (sausage and chips, hamburger and chips, egg and chips, tuna salad, etc). Nothing really wrong with it, but very poor value for money. E.g. One sausage and half a plate of chips cost a whopping €8,50! The draught beer is weak and watery, stick with a bottle of your favourite.
One can’t help feel, that the place takes advantage of being the only place to eat or drink within 2 or 3 km, and win their customers because of its location. Don’t make point of going just for the food.

To get to the castle from SA Coma you walk through a beautiful nature reserve. We walked with our two year old and it took about 40mins to get to the top. The views are great and free to do

We recently visited this place and was very impressed and pleased that we did. We decided to walk from cala bona, which included stopping for refreshments because it is a good distance. not sign posted as we went on recommendation, The walk took us about 1 and half hours as we are not generally frequent walkers.
When we got there we were very impressed on what we found. A beautiful setting with fantastic views, which can be improved by going to the top of the turret. Our time was spent having a lovely lunch and drink at the restaurant while soaking up the view. Don't forget to say hello to the beautiful parrot.

Visited today after being recommended by our holiday neighbours.
So glad we came. A wonderful view and a lovely 400 year old castle which has sensational views from the ramparts.
Be sure to take water on the walk if it's in peak times but there is a lovely little cafe at the top with very reasonable prices considering the captive market.

You feel miles away from tourist areas here. It sits between the resorts of Sa Coma and Cala Millor but you wouldn't realise how close they are. So many paths criss cross over it and there is the welcome cafe bar at the top if you find yourself at the castle. There are great views from this point.
The paths are just about buggy friendly depending which ones you take but not really suitable for wheelchairs. There are areas which are quite open so make sure you have sun screen and perhaps a bottle of water with you. There is parking adjacent to it in either resort.
Best of all its free!

I have absolutely no idea what this is about but it was very interesting and they do marvellous wine in The Cambridgeshire Stock Room of the Nasty Cat Pub, which is not too far from here.
There were points where I was walking and felt I was living on Mars with dinosaurs, but that is purely speculation on my part. Perhaps the wine and Spanish heat combined to make this happen.

What do they do here? Would it be good for 2 children aged 3 and 6?

This is a nature reserve. They don't do anything but you can, walk, cycle or horse ride. There's a castle to go in with a cafe close by and also a view point on the cliffs a short walk past the castle. It's really lovely

Good Morning All, Was just wondering me and my partner are booked to stay in pa coma may next year and would really love to go to the ranch and go out on a nice long ride around the island, Was just wondering does anybody know how far the ranch is from the hotel Protur Safari Park and if it isn't to far how we go about booking it?
Also anything else that we could do would be great to hear about :)

about 5-10 minutes walk. ride on banana boat or go up in a parachute ride which is fixed to the boat pulling you along, also sa coma has a zoo with free bus rides to and from the zoo crazy golf at safari park hotel and if you like diving off of a cliff,walk from Sa Coma to S'Illot and follow the walk way past the fishing area around to the cliffs, plenty of kids jump in from there. If you're into ancient cites ie BC there are 2 in S'Illot one behind the restaurants in S'Illot and the other on the way to jump off of the cliff. Enjoy.
