- Sylvia L8 contributionsAmazing , awesome Caves, so glad we visited. This is definitely a must go to. It is amazing. But don't book through excursions trips. Just book on line, and then get the last cal bus. You will save 25 € each doing it that way. It is the most amazing caves I've ever visited.Thank you very much Sylvia for taking the time to write your feedback. As you say, by purchasing the tickets directly from our website you can benefit from a small discount, as well as reserving the day and time of your visit. Other people choose to book by reserving a whole excursion with transport included. - Roy JGarforth, United Kingdom25 contributionsBeautiful Caves wonderful experience (in my opinion)Lovely trip, we went by taxi as not too far from Sa Coma and cost 14 euros not bad for 4 of us to get to the Caves of Drachs adults 16.5 euros and children 10 euros to get in the Caves of Drachs. I think it a lovely journey through the caves and the music concert at the end, well worth a visit. However please bear in mind there are probably over 200 steps to go up and in and out of the Caves. No good for people unable to walk well!!Thank you so much for your wonderful opinion and amazing rating! As you say, there are many steps to enter and also to exit the cave, so it is not suitable for people with low mobility. We are very glad to know that you enjoyed the concert since there is amazing acoustics and it is most of our visitor's favourite part. - Holly15 contributionsMagical! An absolute must. The whole experience was beautiful. We started by entering the caves by foot and walked around admiring the beauty the caves offer. There were so many lovely moments where we could see up to the top of the caves or down where there were streams of crystal clear blue waters which was just magical. We were walking for roughly 30-40 minutes but it didn’t feel like it! Would recommend suitable footwear as there were patches it looked a tad slippery but there were railings and handles the whole way around. You came to an opening which was like a theatre. Wooden benches in front of the beautiful caves and open blue water! Just breath taking. We sat and waited for everyone to arrive and then the magic happened… All the lights in the cave turned off and there was silence. Then straight out in front of us, on the water, came these rowing boats lit up by fairy lights. On the middle one, an orchestra, floating and playing their music. There was a pianist, cellist, and two violinists. The classical music filled the cave and the acoustics were beautiful. It was truly like magic and bought a tear to my eye. The music continued and they played so many beautiful songs. Afterwards, we all had the choice to walk the remainder or travel by the rowing boats and we decided to go on the boat. There was a little queue but not long as they had 6 boats rotating so we weren’t waiting long and it was so worth it. The experience was just magical. So worth it and I cannot recommend it enough! You MUST go here!Thank you so much for your wonderful comments and amazing rating. We are very glad to know that you enjoyed every single bit of the tour. The Caves of Drach are a true wonder of nature that has been forming for millions of years. The Lake Martel, which is one of the biggest underground lakes in the world is truly magical and worth-seeing. There, the concert and small boat ride take place, which are the two main highlights of the visit. - SpikeLisbon, Portugal55 contributionsGreat Caves But Too Many People At OnceThe caves themselves are spectacular but it felt like Disneyland inside. Too many people at once and it just didn't feel like similar caves in France (Carcassonne) and Halong Bay, which are far less crowded. The classical concert was pleasant, we skipped the boat ride and walked. There is another cave location nearby, next time we are in Mallorca, we will see if that is a little calmer and less busy.Thank you so much for taking the time to write your feedback about the visit. The Caves of Drach are the most well-known cavity of the island, making it one of many people's must-do during their vacation. - Phil25Hampshire, United Kingdom553 contributionsSpectacular caves, great short concert but very busy!We booked our timeslot in advance and arrived 10 minutes before as advised but there was still a huge queue! Once inside we were extremely impressed by the amazing beauty of the caves with many stalagmites, stalactites and multiple other rock formations and pools. The route winds down to a natural amphitheatre beside the large underground lake where you sit and boats come by with a string quartet playing a few well known pieces for about 10 minutes to a light show - all very well done. Then (after another queue) a flotilla of small boats row you across the lake and you walk back up through more spectacular caves to the exit. It was reasonably priced and definitely worth doing - just bear in mind it is very crowded and you won't be admiring it on your own!Thank you Phil for your review about the visit to the Caves of Drach. We are glad to know that you mostly enjoyed the visit. The groups are usually large but the cave is really big and the visit can be done in relative tranquility. - Altea88Suffolk, United Kingdom466 contributionsWondrous - not to be missed! We are so glad that we didn't miss this amazing outing to the famous Caves of Drach. The entire experience from start to finish exceeded our expectations. Very easy to book online, we took a bus from outside our hotel in Sa Coma directly to the Caves and everything was so well organised. Seeing the stalagmites and stalactites, formed over millions of years was surreal and wondrous. The classical music concert on the subterranean lake made for a perfect magical ending. Definitely recommend! We are pleased to know the visit reached its aim. The formations inside the cave are formed because of the continuous filtration of rainwater. These formations grow an average of 1 centimetre every 100 years, so they are an amazing nature-work. - Garry C17 contributionsAn absolute must…A lifetime experience for a small cost. This would be by far an experience NOT to be missed by anyone touring Mallorca.. We joined a large party for the 2pm exploration. Having done a small amount of research, we were totally in awe of the whole experience. The finale of the underground small classical concert performed from boats on one of the underground lakes, had tears glistening on our cheeks as it came to a close. The staff should consider themselves very fortunate to have the privilege of being employed to show the visitors their world heritage site.We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the visit. The concert is one of the most beautiful parts of the visit. It has been offered for more than 90 years so it has become a tradition to visit the caves and, at the end, to listen to the small concert in the Martel lake. - Danail DSofia, Bulgaria276 contributionsReally impressive cave, too many touristsI join the most opinions – the cave is really impressive with amazing rock formations and pools. The short classical concert on the big pool is also a good idea with the cave acoustics (though you wait a lot more in the big amphitheater than the concert 10 min.) As the cave is a must for tourists in Mallorca there are too many people (I am really glad that we did not visit it in the top season).Thank you very much for your feedback, we are glad to know you liked the caves and the concert. In low season the influx of visitors is less than in high season. However, there are more visitors during the morning visits than in the afternoon. If you have availability, the 15:30 visit is usually the quietest one. - Deepali45 contributionsBeautiful natural cavesBeautiful natural caves with mesmerising music concert on boat. My kid liked the place a lot and the whole arrangement was really nice. We went on a weekday and the crowd was not much and hence we enjoyed every bit of this place. We are very happy to know the visit reached its aim. Winter season is the most quieter one, so is a good time to enjoy a quieter visit. Our current schedules are: 10:30h, 12:00h, 14:00h and 15:30h. - MartyZZZZillah, Washington154 contributionsBeautiful cave, beautiful musicMy wife and I really enjoyed touring the Drach Caves on Mallorca. There was many different beautiful formations to see, along with the underground lake which was a vivid blue color in places. The highlight was the live music in the gigantic cavern by the underground lake. The only thing that was a negative, was the way they just sent everyone into the entrance at the same time. Until everybody started to string out it was like walking in the midst of a big mob. We would definitely recommend this tour to everyone.Thank you very much for your lovely feedback. Inside the caves there are several lakes, but the most important one is the Martel lake. With 117 meters large and 30 meters wide is one of the largest underground lakes in Europe. Visited Cuevas del Drac and de Artá on the same day. Out of these 2 I would definitely choose Cuevas de Artá. In Artá the tour size is smaller and the guide actually tells you facts, albeit little, about the caves. In Drach you are just guided through the caves among +50 others without any info about the caves.
In the end of the tour you’re seated in a bizarre amphitheater overlooking the lake. Then you watch when boats go by and listen to live classical music. The weirdest experience ever.

We have visited Mallorca many times but thought that we'd visit the most famous caves this time now that our youngest might appreciate them, and as a bit of respite from the heatwave that hit Mallorca.
Oh dear.
As beautiful and interesting as the caves were, people were constantly being told to 'keep moving' and 'keep walking'. Trying to point out stalactites/stalagmites/rock formations to our children was interrupted repeatedly in this way - there was no way to make it educational or enjoyable.
Some people were naturally trying to take a photo or two, but they were hurried on by staff, with staff even switching lights off to prevent them being able to take photos, making sure they got to Lake Martel for the concert. While I appreciate that the concert is a major part of the non-guided tour and people have to be seated because the concert is conducted in darkness, such actions seemed in rather poor taste, and the music was decent but not spectacular.
Speaking of the concert, some audience members tried to film it, which prompted loud and repeated shouts of 'no camera' from members of staff, which only served to spoil the concert for everyone else. There had been no announcement at the beginning regarding filming, so how were people supposed to know?
50€ for a rushed, rude walk around the caves seems poor value for money and as a result I wouldn't recommend Cuevas del Drach.

We regret the visit didn't meet your expectations.
During the visit, as is a group visit, you must follow the group, because there's a concert and a boat trip. The concert is a part of the visit and we wait for all our visitors to start it. Before the concert, by loudspeakers the guide informs to our visitors the begginning of the concert and its rules.
Best regards

This was a really underwhelming experience. It is basically paying to stand in a queue for an hour and be hurried through the caves to sit and listen to a small orchestra play 3 songs in a crowded room where the security were just shouting at people to turn their phones off the whole time. It wasn’t what I expected at all. After the concert you can wait in yet another massive queue to get in a boat 50 meters to the exit (or you can just walk for 30 seconds to the exit). There was no explanation or guide book/leaflet to what we were seeing. You could scan a QR code to get the online leaflet but once your in the cave you can’t actually get access to it due to the lack of signal. It didn’t have much information on it anyway just a brief 2 paragraphs.

Turned up at 11.50 for the 12.00 tour and enjoyed a 25 wait in the queue 😖.
The caves are truly beautiful and you've plenty of time to enjoy them as its basically another slow moving queue through the entirety of the tour.
Strict guards/tour staff are quick to berate you should you pull your mask forward to catch a breath. This was the only Covid related measures in place, as distancing of even a metre is seldom achieved throughout, and handrails are used by all.
We eventually came to the lake where the 'music concert' we had heard so much about was to take place. We were hurried to our seats by the guards, which because of the camber of the walkway and near darkness, required the use of the handrail for safety.
The 'magic concert' comprised of a pianist, a cellist and 2 violins player on a small boat playing for 10-15 minutes. I'll say no more about that.....
A few members of the audience took pictures with cameras and phones, but were quickly reprimanded by the Special Forces trained guards and threatened with expulsion. I've no doubt there are signs prohibiting these, guess I just missed them by being rushed to my seat.
After the 'concert' everyone was corralled towards the exit, thankfully.
Luckily the steep concrete steps to the exit had a few concrete chairs along the way for the older and not so active customers to rest before carrying on the climb.
I'm giving this attraction 1 star due to the reasonably priced beer at the visitor centre.

Saludos cordiales.

During COVID especially at times where incidents are very high again, we expected a security concept with restrictions and strict distance control. Tickets where limited and website was announcing entry restrictions. Besides of masks which people took off during the concert masses where pushed through the caves like cattle. Our young kids have no vaccination and masks and we felt very unsafe is this irresponsible place (was now way to get out since more and more people where allowed to go inside at one time slot - I guess 300 or so…) during concert we should sit side by side to other guests, which we refused to do until we found one empty row at the end. BTW the security guys just did not understand our point only some German guest also felt insecure but where trapped like us…Why is there such strickt rules (which have been everywhere in Mallorca during winter) and this is possible now? Management please don’t tell me this the new rules…. It’s just wong and you are responsible for the spread!!! We need to be so much responsible at home, are not allowed to eat inside restaurants, seats at the Mallorca airport or marked as blocked and YOU are allowed to do this? Shame on you!!!And again we where in there as one of the first guests at 13.00 and than the masses swamped in! See pictures. Will bring this to attention to the German and UK press ans also complain at Spanish government!

Saludos cordiales.

If you are staying in S'illot or Porto Cristo, don't miss the 'Dragon Caves'. It's easy to reach by bus, but it's best to book your tickets online to guarantee your place because the hourly tours sell out very quickly. There's an excellent café, reasonably priced, and the tour itself takes you down through glorious caverns and vaulted cathedrals of ancient formations which have developed over millions of years. The highlight is the underground lake at the end. Ghostly-lit boats arrive silently and a very polished string quartet play a short concert with fabulous natural acoustics. You can even have a free boat ride across the lake at the end. A word of warning though: if you are short of breath the ascent out of the caves is steep and there is no provision for the infirm. That said, this was a wonderful experience.

Upon researching experiences near Cala D’Or, we spotted the Drach Caves (nothing to do with the Count)! The travel company/ hotel offered the trip at circa £45 each, we opted to go with the local bus and get a ticket separate which was a much cheaper way to do the trip. Bus network super easy and clean coach like public buses. The caves themselves were impressive but we felt like cattle being marched through them, the “concert” was nice, but people insisted on filming it, after being told not too. The boat ride at the end was the best bit of the trip! Overall the caves were a nice experience.

During performance with boats, People are left sitting in pure darkness, even the smallest lights are switched off completely and there are no signs of exit in case one wants to leave the performance. Please leave dimmable guiding lights During the performance to prevent sitting in pure darkness surrounded by strangers without knowing where is the exit. I paid to enjoy the experience but on the other hand felt distressed and was counting minutes until the performance will be over to be able to leave once the lights will be switched back on. Your boat performance would be as beautiful even with lights on, no need to keep People in pure darkness 25m underground without emergency exit signs or any other source of Light. Thank you

During the concert, the lights are switched off and only a trio of boats carrying the musicians illuminate the site. Inside the cave, a staff of around 40 employees ensures the safety and well-being of all our visitors. During the concert, they walk around the stands and, if you want to leave the visit, you can do it immediately telling it to them.

Paid 16€ for entering the caves for ~ 1 hour + short live concert inside the cave. The concert was good but nothing really special, the acoustics in the cave made it worth hearing.
I visited on a Saturday, their website recommended to come on weekends, because off less people coming in weekends.
Still there were a few hundred people visiting at the same time, was a bit annoying because the cave got narrow at some points. There was no guided tour or information, besides a QR-Code to scan for a written guide. Just some staff prompting us to hurry and some points.
The Cave in itself are on of the most beautiful things I saw in my life, an experience I won’t forget in my life. DEFINITELY worth it and would recommend it anyone to visit it.
P.S.: can the a bit warm , so don’t take to to warm clothes!

These caves are very impressive, and i was glad I made the 2.5 hour bus and train journey from Port de Pollenca. As noted by other reviewers, this is a very popular attraction, and entry to the cave is in large groups every hour, so I would recommend you book on-line to get the time you want. I turned up at midday without booking and got on the 14:00 entry, which worked well, as Porto Christo is a short walk and I needed some lunch. I would suggest you don't try to get into the entry queue too early, I joined towards the back and found the crowd dispersed ahead of me quite quickly. This also meant that I didn't have to wait very long for the concert as I was one of the last to be seated. Overall you are in the cave for an hour.

Thank you very much for sharing your opinion about the visit with us.
As you rightly said, the number of people visiting the cave, disperses very quick because of the big size of the cave (1200 meters path).
If you go in the last ones, you are also able to enjoy the concert and the boat trip.

We will be staying at the FlipFlop Hotel, Carla Romantica in early May. We really wanted to visit the caves and were looking for a bus to take us from Carla Romantica to the caves, Porto Cristo. There is a bus 427, but this only operates during the summer season. Does anyone know when the summer timetable for bus route 427 will begin for 2024? I have contacted the Tib bus company , but had no reply. Would prefer to take the Tib bus, but if that is not possible, any other suggestions as to how we can easily get there? Thank you.

Is it possible to arrive by local bus ourselves, is there a bus that stops nearby? or is it only by joining an organized coach excursion? (Many people mention coming with a large coach group)
Also is it open in January, or only when it's in the busier summer season? We are on Mallorca now, and all the shops that sell excursions and tours are closed until later in the season 😢

We had a rental car and drove ourselves to the caves. I’m not familiar with the available buses in the area.

have two knee replacements. Will I be ok with the steps at the caves thanks
Written August 30, 2022
