We booked the 6 dive package for certified divers combined with a refresher course. It was a great experience, the team is very kind and knowledgeable. We found out very last minute that we needed more documents to dive which delayed us by a few hours but the team was very flexible. Eventually we were able to do a full refresher AND join the boat in the afternoon because of them. Also, we saw some great animals along the way. Would definitely recommend diving with Big Blue diving!

An absolute pleasure to share my review of Big Blue Diving in Palmanova Bay, Mallorca.
Pursuing a 12 year dream, this week (with most thanks going to Vanessa, my primary instructor), I completed my SSI Open Water Diver course.
Everything, from booking the course and setting up the online training to conducting the actual in water requirements and final 4 dives for certification, was incredibly seamless!
The staff at Big Blue treats their clients like family; Udo and Ursi (owners), are intimately involved in all of the operations and Pierre, their Operations Manager, will ensure you are taken care of if you need any equipment! His “deal of the day” can’t be beat!
I can’t wait to come back; my daughter is likely to be the next student from my family for the OWD course!
Recommended for anyone; prices are very reasonable, equipment is disinfected with a patented Cressi “No-COVID” product that is environmentally safe.
They speak your language (Deutsch, English, Francois, Espanol, ...)!

Very well organised and professional Dive Center. I booked a package of 4 combined SSI specialties (deep, wreck, navigation, search & recovery). Allthough I am not a holiday customer but a resident with limited time off work, getting the dates set for the dives was straight forward. The training dives were very well briefed and executed by my trainer Milou. The dive sites were nicely chosen for the task at hand and all in it was a fun and quality experience.

We planed a trip to Mallorca exclusively to dive. Two and a half month before traveling, I contacted Big Blue explicitly saying that we were interested in diving in caves and wrecks. We planned 8 dives with them to move afterwards to another area of the island.
We were told that the wrecks could be arranged without a problem. When we arrived, they told us that the wrecks were not planned for the days we were diving with them. After complaining about it (since they have 2 1/2 months to let me know about it), they didn't care at all. Moreover, the staff tried to downplayed the dive sites we wanted to visit saying that they were not that good.
We had to contact several other dive shops and change our holiday schedule to be able to go to the sites we wanted (and they were amazing).
Long story short, don't trust you'll get to do what you arrange with them because no one showed not even a little interest or willingness to fix this. The owner that was the one I had the communication with didn't even approach us to apologise for the inconveniences she caused.
Other than this, most of the staff is very nice and competent.
During my trip, I dove with 3 dive shops in the island, this is the one I'd recommend the least.

Hello, thank you for you comment. Its sad that you haven t been at the dive spots you were hoping to dive. I was checking the email we have written. There was one on the 05th May were we have written: "We are doing diving at the best marine national park usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays, we usually do the biggest wrecks of the Balearic Islands and cavern diving once a week !" There was no confirmation at all, that we are able to dive at the wrecks/cavern at this time you are asking for. We have offered you a day where we do the tour, but you told us you have already other plans on that day.....The only days we try to fix ( according to the weather ) are the tours to the marine national park El Toro ! At the end of the day, there are a number of factors that we have to take into account when choosing a dive site. One of the most important factors is safety. The wrecks and the caves are purely advanced dive sites where we have to decide at relatively short notice whether it is possible to dive or not. As written, we are sorry that we were not able to conduct this tour at your desired times.

I booked a 10 dive package with Big Blue Diving. Prior to my arrival, the correspondence and booking process was excellent.
The daily diving was very well organised and the staff / dive guides were excellent.
I would highly recommend Big Blue Diving for anyone looking to go diving in this part of Mallorca.

Took my cousin for a try dive with big blue diving, he loved it and I got a discount. As a solo diver for this holiday the team at Big Blue Diving made me fell very welcome, buddying me up with another solo diver. We had some fantastic boat dives, they were that good I booked some more for a few days later, what a fantastic team making my diving experience as relaxing and enjoyable as I was hoping. I highly recommend Big Blue Diving 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

Really disappointing experience here. We booked to come to Mallorca with the primary aim of diving with this company. Dives were booked weeks in advance then cancelled the morning of due to boat issues - we had no problem at this point as these things happen. Diving was moved to the afternoon but then didn’t go ahead as the skipper believed there was a fault with the boat which turned out to be a lack of fuel not shown by faulty gauges. Diving was then rescheduled with the centre manager for the following afternoon but we received a call in the morning telling us no one was available to take us out. This was due to the new manager failing to communicate with other staff or actually check the schedule and book us in. They eventually called back and agreed to take my parter and his son out for 2 dives in the afternoon. The guide they chose to send with them was brand new to the centre and had never dived the sites before resulting in 2 very poor dives with incorrect navigation and major landmarks missed. The centre owner did not seem bothered by the poor performance of the guide, offered no apology and no discount/refund. I understand the beginning of the season can be difficult but if the quality at this time is so poor then customers should be made aware or offered off peak pricing. Would not recommend. Only giving 2 stars rather than 1 as the equipment provided was of good quality, especially compared to other centres we have visited abroad and one of the staff offered a free drink to all involved as apology (albeit the bar was not open while we were here).

We opened on 01 April and we have some new staff with us who understandably need some training time. All of our equipment and technology is extensively maintained by professionals during the winter, so we try to be as prepared as possible. We apologise for any technical problems or organisational difficulties at the beginning of the season.
Of course we try to avoid such circumstances. We regret that these have now occurred, but they are often unavoidable at the beginning of a season.
In the end, we organised an exclusive boat trip for the two at short notice. With this gesture we tried to accommodate them. The dive guide and manager is a very experienced dive instructor and the dive sites we visited do not require a lot of navigation training for experienced dive professionals. The two dive sites we visited are among the absolute favourites of many of our clients. "Isla El Sech", for example, is known to be a great dive site. It is a pity that the two did not like it so much.
Diving marker points are necessary when diving back the same way ! This was not the case with these dives ! If you dive, for example, a triangle...you reach the start and end point, you don't dive back the same way. As they did not know this dive site themselves, this criticism wounds us! We do not question the quality of our dive instructors. Of course we take your criticism seriously, we are our own biggest critics. We are known for a top organisation and will certainly draw the right conclusions from this. Thank you !

All staff very professional, polite, safe, and fun. All trips are handled smoothly from the process if checking in (multiple languages are spoken) to assigning of gear, boarding boat and diving. The boat captain and dive masters are world class. Marcel (our dive master) helped us to see octopus, moray eel, and lionfish. Marcel was super helpful, fun, and kept watchful eye on all his divers.

A 2-dive trip to El Toro was really well marshalled by the crew from Big Blue Diving. Good briefings, solid equipment and safety first mindsets made for an enjoyable dive experience. Top marks to skipper Silvio and our dive leader from Britanny. Marcel was particularly helpful with the pre-dive organisation and Ursula in the office is a gem. Thanks and have a great season Big Blue.

This is the most thorough refresher course that I have done. We started out with theory review, and there were a few things that I definitely had forgotten. After setting up our equipment, we completed different skills like mask clearing and sharing air that I don't think I have done since I first did my open water course. The dive itself wasn't particularly exciting, but I can understand why it is close to shore (in case we did have any issues). It also gave me a chance to play around with my weighting system (I ended up needing less than I thought). Silvia was very kind.
As a side note: I also found their website easier to navigate when booking my dives and I received an email quite quickly afterwards from the staff to confirm.

I have to answer in english language, because we are closed for winter in the moment till the 26th March 2018 and our dutch instructor is in vacation yet.
Our boat fits 12 persons. One of them is the captain and one should be the dive guide. We have a great range of very good dive spots. We are doing the biggest wrecks on the island, cavern diving, drift diving along the rocks of Mallorca, the best marine national park of the island El Toro and more.
We are always doing 2 guided dives on each tour.
Because the very less demand of Nitrox we don`t offer it, I´m sorry.
