The website said it was closing at 2:45 for a wedding. We arrived at 2;20 and were not even allowed on the property after we drove out of our way to go there. They should have been honest about what time they were closing so we could have planned differently or saved the drive.

What an incredible place and unique experience. We were coming from Michigan to visit the Monticello wine trail and we stumbled upon the cooking class so we extended our stay from 2 to 3 nights at the Inn at Stinson (also AMAZING) so that we could take the class. It was absolutely worth it. Chef Victoria was awesome. The class was fun, informative and absolutely delicious. Mango ceviche!! Who would’ve thought?! We had so much fun interacting with others in the class and seeing the gardens and land through the eyes of the chef. I’ve never been so impressed with a culinarily property. Truly an honor to have had the experience. We hope to visit again in the future🥂

Most organized vineyard yet. Inside there is a dining room and tasting hall. Outside there is live music and a kiosk to buy bottles and snacks to picnic on the lawn. Breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

This was by far the best food of our trip! We came, we drank, we conquered! I would definitely recommend this experience. Jimmy was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. He was great! If you are in the area, this should be a go to place.

Don't miss this Charlottesville gem! Beautiful grounds and scenery, fantastic food and wine, great service. Compliments to the Chef, the Kitchen Manager, and Gena--you are hitting it out of the park! The Reuben, burrata salad, salmon, French fries, and carrot cake....Delish! Recommend the Zero White, the chardonnay, rose, and froze.

I have been to Pippin Hill many times and absolutely love the views, food, and wine. However, it was my friend’s birthday and I had bought cute headbands for us to wear. When we approached the hostess stand, we were told that we could not wear our headbands inside because it wasn’t fair to the other guests that didn’t have one and that they treated everyone equally. I actually thought they were kidding. They were not! This is absolutely ridiculous. No where on the website or reservation does it say this as a dress code. Unfortunately, I nor any of my Lynchburg friends will return or patronize a business that tells me what I can and cannot wear.

We came here with Monticello Wine Tour & Coach Company. It was our first stop and set a very high bar. We all did a flight of white wines. I thought they were all pretty good, but the white zero (first one) was definitely the best. We also ordered the sliders, cheese board and fries and lemon bars to share. All the food was amazing. We were on the veranda which was beautiful and we loved all the people coming in with their chairs and blankets to sit on the lawn. Our tour made the reservations for us. I know they are required for the veranda, not sure about the lawn, so make sure you confirm before going.

We tried most of the white wines and were not impressed by the white wine flight. However, the viognier and sauvignon blanc wines were very good, and I suggest ordering those by the glass.
There are shared plates and foods more excellent!! We ordered the burrata and beets, and chickin pita abd they were gourmet!

Gorgeous grounds and views. Beautiful barn buildings with great decor and ambiance. Welcoming staff. Appealing small menu. Great food: well made, nice presentation, high quality, tasty. Fun table side wine tasting (Covid adapting): small vials containing the wine. Better wine glasses would do more justice to their wines instead of the clunky wine glasses that they use.

Beautiful mountain views! Lovely building & very well-trained staff. We ordered a tasting, which came in an adorable mini holder of 4 cork-topped mini bottles. All 4 wines were outstanding. We particularly liked the Cannon Red -- possibly the softest, smoothest red I've ever had -- and the Viognier.

Two minor drawbacks. First, you really need to make a reservation. We were exploring the area & just dropped in -- we ended up being relegated to sitting in the large, mostly empty event room which was not the end of the world, but if we had made a reservation we would have been able to sit in the outer room with fireplaces & a glass wall with stunning views. That's OK -- now we know for next time.

Second, believe it or not, you cannot order just a glass of wine! You can get the sweet little tasting or order a bottle -- nothing in between. You can take the bottle home after enjoying a glass or two there, but we would have each wanted a different wine & weren't planning to spend $75 for 2 bottles! They lost out on the sale of two glasses. Seems like they would make more money in the long run & have fewer annoyed customers (the woman in front of was REALLY annoyed she couldn't get a glass!) -- if they would serve wine by the glass like literally every other winery we've ever been to!

That being said, we will likely go back because of the views & the good wines -- but making a reservation first & planning ahead to purchase a bottle. (Sheesh!)
