We stayed in a room overlooking pools, lovely gardens and a view of the sea. First impression, absolutely spotless, high standards, welcoming happy staff. We were offered a kettle to use in our room which was perfect for our needs.
We booked bed and breakfast which is served until 10.30. Great variety of continental and 'English' breakfast available, all looked/tasted fresh and well presented.
Rooms cleaned daily
We used the hotel sauna, pool and steam rooms at no extra cost, free towels available, very high standards, really enjoyed the experience.
We didn't inform them it was my birthday whilst I was there, however the staff picked up on it and we arrived in room to find a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates!! How lovely. We also received two new selfie sticks as a gift on another day!
Can picafort has a lot to offer great walks along a beautiful beach and cafe's/bars along the way. Easy to catch a bus to Alcudia or Porta Polencia for 3-4 €, both are well worth a visit, they are picturesque and have a variety of restaurants/bars to suit everyone's taste. We loved it. Weather was cool in March, wear a light jacket, hottest day got up to 25°c, but mostly 14 -18°c.
Will definitely be re visiting.

Okay beach with not very big waves. When we were there the water had a lot of algae and also some plastic unfortunately. Renting 2 beds and a parasol costs around 15.00€ for a whole day. Beautiful sunrise worth waking up early for.

We came to Ca'n Picafort for the day on Saturday as there was a craft and food fair on the front. It was lovely to be able to sit and watch the world go by as Paya de Muro where we were staying was just a strip of hotels really.
There are restaurants all along the seafront and plenty of shops. The beach was clean and water clear.
A tip-keep walking south from the harbour to the quieter and more charming area where there are small bars and another soft sandy beach.

I dragged my family to the beach one afternoon. They wanted to stay by the pool. But I thought no! We came to a beautiful island with amazing beaches we have to spend some time at the beach - it was late afternoon so (slightly) cooler. It was quite rough, big waves but the sea was full of people and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves. It appeared to go deep and then shallower and people were on sandbanks out a little enjoying the waves. If I’d known this was a sign of a rip I’d never have taken my family in. We were right by a lifeguard tower (UNMANNED) and the boat in/out lane so roped off and the flag showed only black and white (boat lane).
We basically got caught and I cannot believe we lived to tell the tale. Every step i tried to take back towards shore was three back out to sea. I was hanging onto my 9 year old for dear life (despite him loving it and having no clue and trying to wriggle free). We were totally stuck thou and the waves were over our heads by this point. My husband and elder son managed to free themselves up and pull us in to safety eventually. None of us have any idea how they managed to do this but it shook us up how quickly we were dragged out.
Please please please research the signs of riptides (channels and pools in the sand under the water as well As the flags) and make sure if you let your children in the sea (anywhere) make sure they know what to do and not panic and have an inflatable with them.
We celebrated survival with ice cream after.

The resort is quieter tham many in Majorca but for us that was great. It has a pleasant walk along the front, with restaurants and a few shops, with many shops just a street behind. The beach is good with plenty of sunbeds to rent and showers at each entry point. Some rocky areas with inlets too. Market on Friday morning running from the beach to the centre. Very beautiful coastline, a lovely promenade to walk through and plenty of beach. The only downside is that this beach can get quite busy - though it isn't too bad at the moment due to covid restrictions only just being lifted.

This is when the beach is least occupied and the stormy clouds add a special drama to the beauty of the place. The colour of the sea in these days is amazing, and the mountains surrounding Alcudia Bay in both directions look spectacular too..With this high visibility factor, its the best time to take some stunning photos

How do you hire the loungers and safe? Do you pick one then wait for someone to come round?

Just find an empty bed and occupy it. There are people who move around checking for new people and they will come and find you. You pay them, they give you a receipt and they mark your place. Thats it.
Sometimes they don't come to you for quite some time, then its better to wait for them or if you're in the water, keep an eye for them, then come out and pay them.

Thanks

Nautic Soller has boats/kayaks etc for hire. I was told they rent out pedalos as well.
What is the weather like for sunbathing in September?
L M
Amsterdam, The Netherlands567 contributions
We were there in May.
It was rather windy and swimming was out of the question (rough and cold sea).
You can hire sunbeds and parasols on the beach, but you can also bring your own towel.
The first half of the month September is usually hot. Hotter than May and hotter than the second part of the month.
I don't think we'll be going back to the North East of Mallorca. Too windy for our taste.

What’s weather like in May

We were there the first half of May.
Windy, stormy even some days.
Rough cold sea meant no watersports no swimming.
If we went for coffee or ice cream we would sit behind a windscreen.
We arrived late at the hotel and I couldn't get the heater figured out.
That was one cold night we had!
