We walked in here off the street and got a very friendly welcome and found that we could go on a tour within 15 minutes. Manuel gave us a great tour of the cellars and explained a lot about the different types of port they produce - we were the only two on the tour. They are a comparatively small producer and don't export their wines. We got to taste two different ports and one wine at the end of the tour. The tour cost 10 euros each but we bought two bottles and got 5 euro discount on each one.

We chose this place as we wanted to try a Port producer that is Portuguese. The tour was great on giving us information about the different types of port, white and red. Apart from the tasting that is included in the price, you can opt to try others for extra. We had been to a Quinta in Duoro Valley previouly where we had to chose and pay for the port/wine for tasting beforehand. This place gives you the choice of additional tasting after the tour for a very reasonable cost, which was fun. Trying the white port at different lengths of maturation was particularly interesting as we’d only tried a very young white port previouly. Our guide Sonia was very friendly and helpful, and though the tour itself was about 25 minutes, we ended up spending well over an hour there and enjoyed the experience.

Located on a small street right next to the Duoro river, this winery is one of the few in the country without corporate control, owned by the Portuguese family Augusto, they do their porto wine as traditionally as possible. The tour was quick and informative. The staff was very friendly, we got all our questions answered (and boy we had a lot of questions!), they speak fluent English (and French, Spanish, Portuguese).
At the end of the visit we've been served 4 glasses of their porto (2x 6 years old and 2x8 years old), we also ordered a tasting of red 30 years old and glasses of both red and white 40 years old. The 30 year old is a global favourite, with strong fruity notes (distinctive plum, dried raisins, smooth wood...), Red 40 yo was a narrower version of the 30yo, losing the plum taste but getting closer to a purest Porto form. The white 40yo was mind blowing, developing a slight sourness and incredible palate, unconventional for Porto wine but hey, only two producers offer a white 40+ Porto... You cannot buy their bottles anywhere else but here, however they can ship bottles directly to your home and deliver when suitable for you. The best part is that even after 8 glasses no headache occured!

This local small wine producer has some of the best affordable port wines I tasted in Porto. Very genuine and friendly owner (one of the 4 owners) who attended us. He guided us to choose the correct wines as per our taste. We bought 4 bottles - two Fine White and two 10 years, both are superb quality Porto wines. Enjoyed the experience! Highly recommend!

Nice port house in little alley. Good explanations, but a bit on ‘automatic pilot’. Good port tasting, nice products. We paid for 3, but our 15 yr old only got 1 glass to taste where we would get 2. I understand it might be a waste of good port, but then don’t charge the teenager full price…

For 10€ per person you get a 20-30 minute tour. Sonia gave us some very interesting information around how Port Wine is made. The tasting in the end was also quite good. We ended up buying a bottle of 20year old port wine. Not the cheapest but as Augusto is a smaller, family-owned company which produces a smaller amount, a rare one :)

Augusto's is a fantastic little port lodge.

We were the only people on our tour and Alfredo was super friendly and informative.

The inclusive tasting was great and we ended up paying to try a few more ports by the glass. I particularly enjoyed the 20 year old white port

Loved it!!! Very attentive staff ( Sonia is friendly and very considerate) visited with family and my youngest was not in his best behaviour...even so Sonia joked and treated us like normal human beings in spite of our offspring. We must endorse local business like this one...the wine is wonderful if you do the tour you get a discount. Very honest prices for an unique wine.

A very sweet Lady named Alcina guided us around through this Family-owned small winery. Very informative, and in the end a bit tipsy after the tasting of one red And 5 port wines. Highly recommended!

This is a nice small and super friendly place for a short tour and tasting. We enjoyed it very much and learned quite a few new things about Porto wine we didn’t know yet, albeit visiting Duoro valley a few times before. Definitely worth a visit.
The wines itself seem to be a bit more interesting and complex than the mass produced competition. Not being an expert, we are into scotch, so far the best Porto wines we have tried.
