Very cool vibe in the evening at sunset and after. Music playing, general goofiness and relaxed tone. The views of Porto and the river are stupendous. Available venues to eat/drink cheaply or not near by. Don't miss!

Cute little park with a fantastic view! When we went, there were a few food trucks and local vendors which was nice to walk around and see. There's a bunch of seating to just admire the view, which is wonderful!

This location is accessible by local transportation, and is adjacent to a tram which can take you down to the waterfront below. It's right next to Luis I Bridge as well.

Very pretty public park, a stop on the Metro line with terrific views of the Duoro River and Porto across the river. Nice friendly crowd on a Sunday.

This is definitely one thing to do when in Porto. One of the best views of Porto in front with a great backdrop of the Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar.

On Fridays and weekends, it can become crowded, but everyone is friendly and welcoming. Grab a bottle of wine on the way, stroll across the Luís I Bridge bridge, and enjoy the sunset!

Beautiful smallish park with a great view over to the historical Porto. At night especially during the weekends it's quite lively. There's a restaurant/cafe close by with a view of both the river and historical centre of Porto

In Portugal, the portugueses used to say that the great attraction of Vila Nova de Gaia is the best view of city of Porto. It seems Ironic, but it's really true. Many tourists and locals (mostly students and young people, in general) used to seat in Jardim do Morro to watch the sunset. In the end of fall, was a little bit cold, but the garden was crowded with two musicians playing Bob Marley: "Don't worry about the things, every little thing is gonna be alright". Almost a clichê movie scene.

Great place to spend the afternoon with some friends or even alone. There are always some local or ex-pat musicians playing nice songs. Really one of the nicest views of Porto. Near to the beautiful Ponte Dom Luís, worth the visit.

it is a little crowded at times, but well worth it.
Sit and enjoy the view. if you are into it, a good Port will be excellent company.

A fantastic viewpoint at the upper cablecar station, one of the best views you will get of Porto.
They have landscaped a beautiful park here, including an amphitheatre- like set of curved concrete benches for you to sit on and drink in the view. The best time to go is in the evening as the sun sets. There will be musicians and a great vibe as a combination of tourists and chilled locals meet to chat and watch the sun go down over the Douro and Porto .
I loved it here, I went back every evening I was in Porto!

There was a dual reason for visiting this garden on a Saturday night. Taking the D line, we crossed the Pont Luis I bridge inches from tourists crossing on the top level. We were careful to cross the train tracks at marked crossovers and started to climb the hill that is the Jardim do Morro. My husband climbed the extra 30’ to the top of the garden. We then walked down to the circular seating that faced the bridge and the gondola station. The vista from the seating was spectacular. We were at Mosteira the day before, but I liked this view better...maybe because the clouds that were beginning to gather for Sunday and Monday forecasted rains made the sky so very interesting.
The second reason was that getting a good seat on the D line at Jardim de Morro heading toward Hospital São Joãn would be easier than from São Bento. It worked.
