Strolled along Villa de nova Gaia enjoying the the sights of the town and wandered into the Ramos Pinto port house. It’s a beautiful old building with fabulous architecture, and the tasting room is very characterful and comfortable. The staff were great and the sommelier...More

During our September visit to Oporto and Vila Nova de Gaia, we had our hotel’s Concierge book a Port tasting at Vinicola Ramos Pinto, just down the hill from our hotel – I think that everything was “just down the hill.” I go way back...More

We came as part of a port tasting tour and were blown away by their reserve white port. As the tour taught us, reserve denotes minimum 7 years average ageing and the end product was a delicate, honey-flavoured delight for 14 Euros a bottle. The...More

Vinicola Ramos Pinto at Avenida Ramos Pinto 380, Porto 4400-266, Portugal (Gaia) on the Duoro River was fun. Good to see the historic development of the Port establishment, good to see barrels of Port, good to taste Port amongst friends and laughter.

Simply an excellent experience from the moment you walk through the door. Once you indicate you would like to port-taste, you are treated totally professionally, given a number of options for tasting (the best is the 5-port choice for 10 euros which can be shared...More

Outside of Portugal this isn’t the most famous of the Port producers, but it is one of the best cellars to visit. The tour starts in the old house where photos are forbidden but you get to see the elegant wood panelled offices with the...More
