A nice short 25 minute tour followed by 3 good sized glasses of port ( white, ruby and tawny) all for 17 euros.
Tour guide was v informative and AV materials supported the tour. You get to see the barrels with port ageing within them and get a sense of history in the making.
Nice shop on exit with wide range of ports including a range of small bottles that can be carried in hand luggage. V smart thinking

I went as part of a package that included the boat tour and hop on hop off bus. Luckily I didn’t pay for this separately otherwise my score would have been lower. Although the guide was knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions, the tour was rushed and you didn’t have time to read any of the notices. When I came to the tastings I was expecting more instructions ie how to smell the wine, how to taste it etc, it was basically just advised what kind of port it was and the age. You then drank it in your own time. Disappointing visit.

Beautiful store with informative tour of cellars. Tour costs 23 euros and includes Fado show while drinking two average ports. If you appreciate Portuguese folk music, it is a must see. Tour guide and staff are super friendly. Store has a large selection of ports and gifts.

Was in a group of 70-80 years old guests, scheduled for a short visit with port tastings. Staff was informed in advance of our shortage of time, yet let us in with a significant delay, giving away our time slot to another group. We needed to rush the whole tour, even more, only to find that the tasting table was not yet prepared for us. Rushing again to the exit, we were blocked by a rude young guy of the staff, who not only refused to assist us, but made fun of us, and insisted to pass each and every single one of us in the counting machine - which did not work alright, spoke with an inappropriate manner, argued and defy of calling his manager. We did not arrive on time at the next point of our tour. People felt insulted and abused. It seems that this place is no longer worth the prestige of the past, hiring unprofessional staff, and charging way much for so little. This city is filled with much more respected establishments.

45 people on a tour in a cramped area, interesting but disappointing. I wouldn't recommend it. The choice of Ports was limited and you have to Pay Pay Pay if you want to experience other vintages... perhaps a smaller amount to get a taste and flavour and more people will buy in the Shop, the 2 we tasted were average. we have bought better from Tesco or Morrisons. No crackers or savoury items to cut through or enhance the flavour.. if you want these, Pay Pay Pay. I think i've made my point.. shop around there are many tours in the area perhaps they will be better.

Unfortunately the group was too big (38 people) and the tour was very rushed. The guide started talking before everyone was able to squeeze into the space so unless you were at the front you missed lots of information and had no time to look at the displays in the museum though this was meant to be included in the price. The wine was great, but overall the tour was very disappointing and I would not recommend it.

It is a tourist trap! For the price you pay, you would be better off visiting smaller wineries. The workers need to improve their customer service skills. We were called “bad tourists ” because we wanted what we paid for - premium ticket:(.

Visiting Porto with my elderly mother, we chose Calem Caves because of the Fado and tasting tour. It was an ideal choice with a balance of information, tasting and a love 45 minute Fado show. The initial presentation was informative, but al title to jokey for me. The Fado show was good. Having two vocalists (one male and one female) added variety to the show. Would recommend if you want something a little

It was ok, the tour was really busy and as a result difficult to feel really engaged with the guide but the content was still interesting and the cellars are beautiful.

The premium tasting didn’t feel particularly premium. You’re given one extra port but effectively left to sit in what feels like a large canteen after you’ve had a brief introduction to 3 ports from your guide.

I’m glad we did the tour and tasting but balanced against our other experiences in Porto it was a little disappointing.

Didn't do the tour, but did their 3 port tasting just right of the main entrance.
There's a small stand with lots of tables to the right of the main entrance and asked about their tastings. Servers spoke English and gives you a menu for options to 3, or 5 port tastings with varying prices. Lots of options to pick from. We chose the 3 tastings for €13 where we had a short, medium, and long aged port. It comes with water and some salty snacks.
Our port connoisseur was amazing. He guided us through the different ports, which grapes they use, where it's grown, and why it might taste different from others. Explained everything well. Afterwards he'll leave you to finish your tastings, and gives you the option to buy more glasses (at regular price) or the bottle.
Great location, close to the beach and view of the river. Would try other Port with them.
