We enjoyed this tour because it was different and not too commercialised . Its just 5 mins walk across the bridge from the main part of town . They have limited production , traditional wine making methods including pressing the wine by foot . the tasting was good and accompanied by a good explanation . Their ' entry level' white was my favourite but they had gran reservas included as well as ports depending on which wine flight you chose .

We visited quinta da foz as part of a tour of the Duoro. Our guide was very passionate about their wines and she was very knowledgeable of the wine making process. We got to sample a nice range of their products and the kids were given grape juice which made the tasting very inclusive. We purchased a bottle of the 2015 Grande Reserve red wine which we had tasted. It is superb and it is now back in Australia waiting for a special occasion.

Quinta da Foz

We had a few days in Pinhão so we walked across the Pinhão river via the bridge in the town center to Quinta da Foz. We were fortunate to get into a tasting an hour later. Christiano was a great and knowledgeable host, explaining his family's business while conducting the tasting. A wonderful winery, they mostly make great dry wines along with ports. The tastings are a private event with a limit of ten seats. We learned a lot about Douro valley vineyards and the wine-making processes while enjoying great tasting wines. It was only an 8 minute walk from the main street. They were harvesting so fresh grape waste was outside the building! Definately recommend this.

We had a wonderful experience at this winery!
We went in for a tasting but ended up with so much more. Next to the information about the wines we got a lot of additional information about the region and such.
Everyone there was super friendly and helpful so we would really recommend this ‘quinta’ to everyone! Even if you know nothing about wines or if you already know a lot, your experience here will be worth the while!

My friend and I had a great experience visiting Quinta da Foz. We each enjoyed five wines in their small tasting room. The highlight however was the 2 hours we spent talking with the proprietor learning not just about the winery history and industry in general, but more importantly the time we spent taking about what was currently going on in the world. I wish we had more time to chat but we had to catch a train back to Porto. I would highly recommend Quinta da Foz for anyone looking for a more personal visit to a winery.

Booked a tour prior to trip. We were staying a few nights in a hotel which was nearby as well as close to the station. This is a small Quinta and the tour group was very small. Very knowledgeable staff, happy to answer any questions. We tasted 7 wines/ports and I can honestly say, the rose was the best rose I have ever had and it was very cheap. I believe they only sell their wines locally, couldn't even find it at the airport - just means I will need to go back & fill my suitcase with as many as possible. Thanks for a great experience, we will be back.

Had a great wine tasting and tour of winery with Cristiano. It is much more cosy and less commercialised than others. We rang the same morning and he accommodated us at the last minute. He was very friendly and informative, giving us a tour of the beautiful small winery for even longer than was scheduled. The wines were lovely (our favourite was their Tawny Port) and you also get to taste their superb olive oil during the session too. Great location also, only a 5-8 minute walk back to the train station so the timing was also perfect for us. Be sure to wander the beautiful grounds after the tour.

Our tour and tasting was a wonderful experience. Our guide, Ines, was warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. The wines, ports, and olive oil were delicious. We were so impressed we sent a mixed case of wine (and olive oil) home. This is a small family run winery. We have visited wineries from many different regions in Europe and find that the smaller family owned places give the most intimate and best experiences. We highly recommend visiting when you are in Pinhão. We stopped by the Quinta the day we arrived to arrange a tour/tasting. Cristiano was very helpful and booked us for the next day. Make sure to call ahead or swing by to make a reservation for your tour/tasting.

Four of us (2 couples) visited Quinta da Foz in May 2023. We got a tour of the facility, which included the area where they actually stomp the grapes the old-fashioned way. Members of the family and local community participate in the process, some have been doing it for decades. Our tour guide Cristiano was very engaging and knowledgeable. The tour was very enjoyable and the wines were outstanding. It was great to see the enthusiasm of the people who work at the winery, quite a different experience than at some wineries where tours seem to be quite rote and frankly sometimes tedious.
I highly recommend this tour and the wines they produce at Quinta da Foz!

The tour guide, Chris, was abrupt and rude (I think he is a manager). If you ask him a question he will bark back at you, If you don’t ask any questions about the vineyards/wine/port making process and are only there to taste the port then you will be fine. He also speaks fast and is difficult to hear and comprehend - if you ask him to repeat he will get mad. It was a stressful experience. I recommend visiting Croft nearby where the tour guide is much more professional and engaging. Their port is equally good.
