Small area, not much to see. Not worth the trip. Better off visiting The Cannonball Trail and Naticus.

Ever since the Pokémon go takeover I always avoid the pagoda. This was a not miss on walks with the wife but now we just avoid it since the Pokémon takeover. Hopefully when the new restaurant opens it will return to being a nice place to visithe again.

We rented the Pagoda for a wedding brunch. They also do weddings. Beautiful venue directly on the Elizabeth River, convenient walk from downtown Marriotts, parking lot. The kids loved the koi in the pond and the photographer loved the footbridge and beautiful landscaping. Pagoda Foundation people are very nice! Site is owned bt the City of Norfolk.

What an amazing place. This Pagoda is unique and the surrounding gardens are beautiful and peaceful. There's also a donation-based yoga class here every Wed night at 6:30 pm.

We were there in Aug 2016; supposedly a new restaurant will open there in September. The gardens and koi fish are nice, but it was a hot day and surprisingly crowded - mostly with a bunch of people sitting around in the shade of the pagoda working their cell phones (I think there were electric outlets available, but I didn't... The Pagoda, a gift to the City of Norfolk from Taiwan was at one time an overlooked oasis in the Freemason area of Norfolk. A quiet zen like garden with Koi, water lilies, and great views of the waterfront. It was often a venue for parties, weddings, and other events. Then a new game was released called Pokemon Go and... This a nice quiet park, made up with beauful flowers, plants, coy fish and you feel like you have traveled to japan. Lots of couples take thir engagement photos here, it's peaceful. And people just come sit and relax. There is a restaurant. Hope this helps. David G

It was an excellent stop after a visit to the harbor, unfortunately, now closed. But the gardens are lovely and the neighborhood charming. Well worth a stroll. Hoping some one opens the charming tea house soon.

I stumble into this Chinese building with small garden. I expected there would be a Chinese restaurant there, but it seems it is empty. The garden is small but well kept and beautiful and peaceful. If you are near USS Wisconsin, be sure to stop by.

We just happened to stumble upon this "garden" while checking out the Ghent area of Norfolk. Restaurant was closed but we sure enjoyed the beautiful gardens, fountains, sculptures, and so on. Very peaceful and serene and right in the middle of the city. Nice break.
