Venus in Fur

Saw this VSC production recently and as with almost all VSC productions, it was wonderfully produced, acted and directed. Recommended.

Moved here 5 years ago & I've been to about 20 plays here. I love the size of this place and the Shows have been fabulous. Very excited about the 39th Season. "Pride & Prejudice" tops the list but all 6 Shows sound great. Love that they offer Saturday Matinees. What a great idea. The Shows are @ 4 PM... More

Absolutely the most beautiful theater around. Newly renovated but kept that old special theater look of balconies and statuary, lighting and seats.

My wife, daughter and I attended last night. Virginia Stage Company put on a wonderful production of A Christmas Carol! We thoroughly enjoyed the cast, their singing and the story...so well told. The Wells Theatre never looked better!

We have such a gift in Norfolk; the Va Stage Company. Last night we saw Oliver. It was a more updated version. Spectacular! The young company did an amazing job bringing out each character. The background musician was incredible. A must see at the Wells Theater or Roper Center.

If you live in Hampton Roads or are a welcomed visitor check out the season schedule. Frequently you can see an awesome production for Off Broadway prices. (Dress rehearsal and same day tickets are dirt cheap.) This is a performance art jewel box venue. A highlight that I will never forget is a one woman show by Jean Stapleton. Check... More

We were here in November and lucky to be able to see "All my sons". We were absolutely blown away by how awesome the performance was! It is a lovely theatre that can compete with the big names! Check the schedules in advance, and make sure to see a play here! Thank you and CHAPEAU to the Virginia Stage Company... More

Theatre was clean, well preserved and quaint. Restrooms sufficient. Parking .... nightmare, just bite the bullet and park at MacArthur mall. Bar lobby beverages were available and everyone was smiling and pleasant. LOVED the show! It was entertaining and fun. Perfect start to Valentine's date!

A visit to The Wells is always a treat. It's a cultural visit to another era. The theater is truly lovely with it's balconies and velvet drapes and other period decor. It is architecturally interesting to go back to the 'roaring 20's'. The seating is comfortable and the viewing is good from most any location in the theater. It probably... More

We have been season subscribers for many years, and have enjoyed some spectacular performances at the Wells Theater. It is located just a block or two from many excellent dining establishments.
