The Norfolk Tides are a AAA Minor League baseball team, their parent team being the Baltimore Orioles. The games are played in Harbor Park in beautiful downtown Norfolk, right on the Elizabeth River. Voted the best minor league ballpark in all America, there is not...More

Habor park is home to the AAA Norfolk Tides although the park is showing a little age overall it is still a nice place to spend a evening waching a ballgame and having a hotdog. They have promotions throughout the year everything from free hats...More

An awesome place to go watch AAA baseball game. There is not a bad seat in the stadium. There are a lot of different activities for kids to participate in on the concourse.

Going to a minor league baseball game here is a great family activity. In addition to good baseball they have kids activities like a bounce house and photo opportunities. We were there for Star Wars night and my son had his picture with Darth Vader,...More

This is a decent park to catch a game. The park is starting to show a little age, but it doesn't detract from why you're there. Large parking lot next to the stadium makes for easy parking. There's a restaurant located in right field that...More

Not saying this because it's my hometown ballpark, but Harbor Park is the best in the Minors! I've gone to many minor league ballparks across the nation and Harbor Park has a great layout, easy to get to, good prices for tickets and concessions, and...More

What's not to like about minor league baseball? Crazy mascots doing crazy games, decent ball players, pretty good food too.

Parking can be a challenge, so show up early!!! The ballpark is nice with plenty of restrooms for all. The concessions are fair to good and you can't beat a good old Tides game on a Summer day!

It is obvious why this ball park has been rated so high. Tickets are very reasonable (box seats are $14), great sight lines -' don't think there is a bad seat amongst 15K or so. Always something between innings involving atyendees; concessions are also reasonable...More

Anything happening at Spruce Street Harbor Park in Oct.? (3 Replies)
Will be in Phila. Oct. 7th and 8th and have never been to the Spruce Street Harbor Park or Penn's Landing area of the city. I see by the website of the Harbor Park that they will not have the hammocks up by then, but I'm wondering if the area is worth going to in the evening and hanging out anyway if the weather is OK? Would going during the daytime be better this time of year?

You will need to check for events closer to date. At that point not much is running there as they are shutting down for the year. Not even sure if food will be open past 9/24 - if not, its still nice but not a huge reason to go there.
Help with Trip Itinerary -- Manchester, NH to Acadia NP (5 Replies)
Hubby & I planning trip to Acadia NP October 2-6. Our "maine" destination is Acadia -- trying to check off all the NPs, but here's the plan: October 2-arrive Manchester around 11:30 p.m., hotel @ airport. October 3 (Saturday)-drive to Bar Harbor. October 4 and 5 in the Bar Harbor/Acadia area. (I have lots of info on this area: NE Harbor, the Nat'l Park, Schoodic Point, etc.) October 6-back to Manchester for 5:30 p.m. flight. **What I need help with is the drive on October 3.** Basically,...More

If you don't mind a fairly early start to your day, the following might meet most of your criteria: Manchester, NH to Nubble Lighthouse, Cape Neddick, ME (have never heard of Portsmouth Lighthouse, so have substituted The Nubble in Cape Neddick, about ten miles north of Portsmouth).... Take NH 101 from Manchester east to Hampton; I-95 north to Maine Exit 7 to US 1; US 1 to Cape Neddick and the lighthouse. About 56 miles... Cape Neddick to Ogunquit: US 1 north from Cape Neddick for about...More

Is it safe to park for the weekend at Amtrak station? (2 Replies)
I'm traveling by train to NYC Friday am until Sunday pm. Is it safe to park my car in theAmtrak spaces in Harbor Park Lot D for that length of time? Also, will return late Sunday night (10pm) by bus from Newport News Amtrak station. Is it safe to arrive and pick up car at that time.

Having just spent 10 days in that area and reading the daily newspaper, I would say no. I have no other suggestions.
