We had the opportunity to take this cruise tour on July 4.

Everyone we encountered seemed grateful to have us on. We were made to fee like welcomed guests.

The boat was comfortable, the seats were comfortable and the audio and clarity of the PA system was great.

The narrator for the tour knew his stuff! Some tours like this you can tell that the person was reading from a script but not in this case. He pointed out insights with various vessels and landmarks which you can only know from doing this trip many times. However, unlike those who have done a trip so many times they make the narration seem monotone and boring, our narrator was engaged and made us feel engaged.

One of the stand out points for us was when he pointed out a barge being towed out to Virginia Beach for the fireworks that evening. Since we were staying in Virginia Beach, that was cool to see.

You won't be disappointed going on this tour. It was recommended to us and we enjoyed it so much I'm happy to recommend it to others!

This boat tour was very educational and interesting. We were three couples and the 3 men were fascinated in every aspect of the tour. My husband was especially interested in the naval cargo ships. He says that you always hear about the destroyers, aircraft carriers and subs, but he was amazed at the statistics of the cargo ships. Although the 3 women were not as much interested in all the ships, there were odds and ends of information viewing of ships that we found extremely interesting. And even when we were not particularly interested, it was just a lovely boat ride! The Captain was awesome. His narration was very interesting and we could hear very easily. He also told us about the Norfolk area and pointed out different buildings and locations of interest. The boat was very comfortable and had all necessities. My husband just pointed out that we would do this tour again today if he could.

Nice tour of the harbor. Got as close as you can get to the Naval station to see navy ships and subs in port. Went by several other boat docks, a few shipping container operations and the harbor around Norfolk.
We did the combo ticket so we could also tour the Nauticus naval museum and the USS Wisconsin battleship.

We were in Williamsburg for several days. The cruise time fit nicely for our departure day, about an hour drive to the pier and then start the return home mid-afternoon.

The cruise itself was very interesting and informative. Good views of the various ships and piers. The narration and explanations about the various ships, their role in the Navy, and how each operates was quite interesting. We were especially impressed that the narration was live. So many similar tours use either a recording or a canned script. It was obvious that the narrator knew his “ship” - not a typo :)

Well worth the time and ticket price!

My kids and I had a great time! The Captain was very informative on the area and the ships that were in port. My oldest was able to get some amazing pictures and my youngest son was just amazed at everything. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to see the Navy's ships and the surrounding area.

This tour was a last-minute booking for us, as what we'd originally planned for the afternoon didn't work out. We had little expectations, but it turned out to be a highlight for us! We all enjoyed the tour. The narrator was engaging and informative, AND we saw the USS George HW Bush aircraft carrier as it prepared to leave the harbor for a six-month deployment. Sailors stood in formation around the deck railing and family members gathered on the docks to send them off. It was a humbling and emotional moment. Highly recommended!

Leave early, parking is on the street outside the Nauticus Museum or garages near by. This was great. The Captain was very informative and gave relevant information. Even though there was a bad thunderstorm on the way back and they let us stay in the boat till it let us and it was still very pretty. Most people would think it would ruin a trip it was fun.

We loved our experience with the tour of the Navy shipyard! We traveled with our elderly parents for a vacation to Virginia and stopped in Norfolk specifically to participate in this tour. My father is 80 years old and is a veteran. He enjoyed this tour so much! The captain and crew were very thorough in their presentation, and were very attentive to the passengers. One of the crewmembers even came around at the end of the tour and asked us if we had any questions. Would definitely recommend this tour!

If you love history, commerce, or military.....this is the boat ride for you! The captain gave a wonderful 90 minute speech about everything we saw in the harbor. Very knowledgeable! We saw coal loading, whole Atlantic fleet (including 3 super carriers), dredging, tug boats, and cargo ships. My 13 year old boy, 8 year old boy and husband LOVED this boat ride. However if you have a 6 year old boy with a short attention span, you might want to skip this as this is a LONG boat ride.
PS Go down to the bow of the boat as this is where my 11 year old girl loved it.

Great, casual cruise with informative narration. Check to see if the bench seating on the bow is available, they're the best seats on the cruise and apparently frequently overlooked by tourists. You access it via stairs on the top deck, right hand side. We showed up after the topside seating was mostly filled, but the bow was still empty!

Our only negative is that the narration was a little quick for some members of our family. The captain (I assume) had a lot to say, but spoke at such a breakneck pace that my wife and child had difficulty keeping up with the deluge of trivia.

The staff was friendly and helpful. They seemed to enjoy their jobs, which is nice to see. It was a great day for sailing!
