About
The Quay is the "ex-libris" of Ponta do Sol. Built by the Municipality of Ponta do Sol in the middle of the 19th century to allow docking and easier transportation of persons and goods. The architecture is very unique, with a large, well-designed arch built in basalt stone. The best romantic sunset in the Island.

This man-made pier, with its impressive stone bridge, offers excellent views of Ponta do Sol. There's also stairs down to the water near the end of the point. At the start of the pier is a cafe but we didn't try it so I can't give it a rating.

Most charming and best views yellow house restaurant hanging on cliffs in Ponta do Sol. Mom and pop family run, welcoming you like in their home, cooking most delicious food - grilled squid and prawns are out of this world! All fish is fresh and prepared to perfection with sufficient sides like boiled potatoes and veggies. We also had tuna and limpets, we also had octopus and sea bas... yeah we stayed in Madeira for a week and dined in this place 4 times, that’s how good it is!!!! During the windy weather they allowed us to sit on terrace above ocean and watch waves. It was such a breathtaking experience.

Go there for a drink and enjoy the view, but do not eat there. The squid was tough to chew, the espada tasteless and the entire meal soaked in oil.

At the moment this is under construction, they are making it better and safer, great views from here of the coastline, and perfect for some photos. Shame they are doing the works over the summer of 2019, but it should be open very soon.

Nice little village with some nice views across the north of Maderia. A few cafes on the beach front which is made of pebbles. Lovely little alleyways to wander through and pass the time of day.

This is an ideal location at the edge of the Atlantic.
Went for dinner with great expectations but were disappointed.
The grilled prawns lacked the flavour I expected and again served with a similar salad to other restraurants we visited.
House wine not bad but we could have skipped the desert - not the taste experience we'd hope d for
Lunch time had some of the best Parma ham and melon I have tasted to date.
Menu had very limied english translation.
Saying all that there werer very accommodating if you wanted to have a coffee and read you book in the sun while sitting on their terrace and the value for money was very good.- worth a visit if only for the location.

I would highly recommend the local specialties such as caramujos and lapas (sea snails and shellfish).

With a nice poncha or beer, it's the perfect blend of view, food, and fresh air RIGHT ON THE BEACH!

This is the most scenic point of this small town, with a small promontory overlooking the sea and joined by a very characteristic bridge overlooking the sea.
