The wine is good but in terms of an activity it fell short for us. We like to travel to wineries in the area and invariably - as today - come away with a purchase. Today we were 3, we bought three boxes of the most expensive of their wines and one less expensive, but despite this we were still charged 10€ each for the tasting. Which itself had no explanation, no structure and little care. Happy to pay such a price per head just for the experience but absolutely expect this to be waived in the event we leave over 300€ there! Came away with sour taste in our mouths and honestly put off their wines which is a shame as some of them are quite good! My advice is buy them in a wine store for not much more than they charge in house and go to a friendlier winery if it’s an experience you’re after.

Response from Calustra Z, Proprietario at Azienda Agricola Ca'Lustra

Dear Elizabeth, I am sorry you did not find the experience satisfying. We usually organize tastings with a dedicated person if we are told beforehand, but we will strive to organize better tastings in any situation (if other people come into the shop, we need to serve them too). It is important for us to propose always a warm welcome, so thank you for writing us this review. I must say, though, that we made you taste many more than the 5-6 wines we usually propose in a tasting and in the end we offered you a discount on your purchase (true, not on the tasting). So, I hope to see you again, and, please, ask for me, I will be glad to guide you personally through another tasting. Linda Zanovello

We have been received most warmly by Linda Zanovello , ( member of the family) who demonstrated a profound knowledge of the wines, the territories and the production process. With genuine passion she has let us tastes all their wines. We truly enjoyed it and highly recommend a visit to buy excellent wines for good prices. We will be back!

We arrived at Ca'Lustra on our drive back into Padova one Tuesday afternoon. We did not need a reservation for this wine tasting, which was a plus for our improvisational itinerary. We were met by Marco, a wine-maker whose family owns and runs this biodynamic winery. We enjoyed generous tastings and pleasant conversation selecting our favorites to bring home. I was particularly excited by the environmentally friendly growing practices and minimal sulfite additions to even their whites. This is a fantastic destination for a good run down of some great Colli Euganei wines. A worth-whie convenient destination from Venice and Padova.

This is a lovely outing, up in the hills, with a wide range of wines. We stocked up, including the (up till then unknown to us) grape sort, camenere. Bring a picnic or eat at one of the local restaurants Be warned, the portions are huge!

On this year's trip to Venice we decided to explore the famous Veneto region and contracted a true local sommelier to teach us about the area wines. Mario, our wine connoisseur took us to this small winery in the Colli Euganei and there our host, a lovely lady presented us with a marvelous selection of traditional world known and local favorites. Then the place owner gave us a tour of the cellar, explained some of the varieties distinctiveness and took us to the processing plant since they were in the middle of harvest. The best part was when Mario pointed us how to differentiate each variety, about a dozen of them...from their great reds and whites to their sweet and famous local passito and moscato. Not less impressive was their spumante, but without a doubt, you have to experience it to feel the awe in tasting such delicacies. And if you are in the spirit of a dare-devil, just ask for a shot of their very own grappa.
