Four of us spent the afternoon of a lifetime with Luca. Redefining adventure on a bicycle he lead us through picturesque landscapes up and down the gorgeous Tuscan hills. The e-bikes were fun, simple to operate and can be adjusted as you bike to make things as easy or challenging as you would like. His stories and knowledge of the wine region really enriched our experience. The small, welcoming, family-run winery we visited after biking was a delight. Thank you Luca!

Our family of four took the half day bike trip and wine tasting in Tuscany. The biking was fun and beautiful (I definitely recommend e-bikes unless you are an experience cyclist). We also thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting at a small family owned winery where we tasted five wines, each accompanied by very nice food.

A highlight of our tour was Luca. He is a very patient and nice person. He was super positive encouraging us along.

I would very highly recommend Bike Around Tuscany!

Luca and Bonnie were our guides for a fabulous day, a 35-mile bike ride through the Tuscan countryside with all 13 members of our family. Everyone booked e-Bikes, so that meant we were all able to keep up with each other on the tour. Luca and Bonnie were excellent guides, making sure we stayed together, ensuring safety. We had a lovely lunch on a hilltop town, stopped frequently for photos and briefings. Highly recommended!

Two words: electric bikes. When we arrived at Luca and Bonnie’s bike shop, a few of us had heard of these “ebikes”, a few were hesitant, and a few wanted to use them. Luca encouraged us to choose the ebike option (as opposed to a regular mountain bike) not because he didn’t think we were capable or fit, but because he knew we would be able to enjoy the scenery and day 1000x more with a little “help”. The motor was small and didn’t get in the way and for those who didn’t want to use it, could be in the “off” setting. Let’s just say that the first time we hopped on our bikes and felt the extra push with the ebike in “tour” mode, we knew this was going to be fun. Then, when we met our first hill, we were thanking him profusely for recommending them.

A couple in our group had been on a very challenging bike ride in Tuscany 10 years prior and were hesitant about doing it again. Thankfully, Luca and his ebikes allowed them to have a transformative experience and let them fall in love with the Tuscan hills instead of cursing them.

We whizzed around for a couple of hours, zipping from one hilltop to the next, and feeling like we covered all of Tuscany. We explored back roads, hunting grounds, and wineries.
After our incredibly fun bike ride, we made it to our wine tasting where we enjoyed numerous local wines and delicious Tuscan appetizers.

A note on the ebikes: “tour” is the mode we were in most of the time, on major hills some of us found “turbo” mode and beat the rest of us to the top of the hills. With an ebike, even a hill feels like a flat! There is also an “off” setting so some in your group can get a good workout if they want.

It was the highlight of the trip! We also loved spending time with Luca and Bonnie, learning about their lives.

Thanks so much for the review and e-bike plug! We really enjoyed riding with you guys and will pass on your recap of how much fun even a non-biker can have pedalling around Tuscany. Look forward to seeing you back in Greve! Bonnie and Luca

My mum and I have spent 6 days so far in Italy and had many adventures but our bike tour with the wonderful Luca was by far the highlight of the trip!!

Luca takes you through some of the beautiful landscapes of the Chianti wine region sharing plenty of knowledge along the way (with fantastic English).

If you think it can't get any better than that the afternoon was topped off with an authentic Italian wine and food experience at the lovely Terre Di Melazzano Winery with a gorgeous view and afternoon sun over the rolling hills of Chianti.

It's a must do for anyone travelling through Tuscany!!

My wife and I booked a half-day tour with Luca and it was an amazing time. We ride bikes regularly and have completed some rather lengthy rides, so we were jazzed about touring the Tuscany countryside for the day.

We spent 3.5 hours on the "magic" bikes, Luca offered us, these are awesome, they made the hillside ride enjoyable. Luca customized the route based on our skill level and our desires, offering several different routes "on the fly" as we were traveling the back roads. The route had us going up some steep hills, then the "magic bike" would kick in and assist in the climb, instead of straining up the hill we were able to enjoy the climbs which revealed amazing panoramic views.

Our adventure had us stopping off for lunch where Luca entertained us with wonderful stories and educated us about the local culture. At the end of the day we felt like we had been cycling with a friend, not someone we had just met.

Luca's tour was one of the highlights of our stay in Italy. This was a fabulous way to spend the day, I highly recommend Luca to anyone looking to explore Tuscany. He can customize a tour that is right for you.

Luca thanks for an amazing adventure!

Magnifico! Grand master biking guide Luca and his lovely wife Bonnie are were nothing short of amazing. My wife and I had two glorious days (Leg 1 - Florence to Greve-in-Chianti with an ovenight at a charming inn with to die for dinner and breakfast). (Leg 2 - Greve-in-Chianti to Siena). Day 1 - we stopped at a small family owned olive tree farm/press; had a tour followed by a gourmet lunch with all local products. Day 2 - we stopped for a delicious lunch with the local pici pasta in Castellina in Chianti. Later that evening Luca and Bonnie toook us to their favorite vinyard in Tuscany for a tour and wine tasting with local appetizers. Most importantly, my wife is not a biker per se, so Luca structured our trip with e-bikes and tailored every facet of the trip so that my wife was at ease and we were able to enjoyed every the entire experience with utmost safety and pleasure. This trip was scheduled and cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19. Luca refunded our entire deposit and we promised we would re-secheule. Thank God we did...I consider this a bucket list trip. It was perfect in everyway. If you decide to Bike Around Tuscany....make sure you engage Luca and Bonnie. Thanks a bazillion!! Hugs to you both. Grazie mille!

Luca is amazing. Simply said. We are very active cyclists and triathletes and we wanted to be sure we saw as much as possible, ride some amazing roads and experience Italian culture. We got it all! Coffee stops, Olive Mill, Private Wine Tastings, Fantastic Dinner suggestions, everything. Oh and the cycling. Challenging, but fair. What goes up, must go down! Amazing scenery, smooth roads and a great set up with road bikes, pedals, helmets, the works. I would highly recommend Luca and Bike Around Tuscany. First class operation!

My husband and I really wanted to see and enjoy the Tuscan countryside, and this tour exceeded our expectations. The tour guide, Luca, is amazing! He is well-informed and very personable. He makes you feel comfortable and at ease right away. He is also extremely patient and kind. My husband and I were lacking a bit in our cycling skills, but Luca adjusted the pace and route to suit our needs and we had an amazing time! We felt as if we were up close and personal with the gorgeous Tuscan countryside and lifestyle. The tour ended with an olive oil mill tour and tasting at Antico Frantoio Doglia, which was an excellent way to end our day.

My wife and I wanted to explore the Tuscan countryside, so thought what better way than a private, guided bike ride. We booked with Luca due to the positive reviews on here and we are so glad that we did. The bike rides are tailored to your ability, Luca stops at regular points throughout the ride to take photos and tell you about the area, of which he is very knowledgeable. We opted to add the wine tasting, Luca knows a small vineyard on a hillside with beautiful views. Luca was friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely wanted you to enjoy your experience. Thanks again Luca for a memorable afternoon.
