We really enjoyed this. The setting of the winery is stunning. We did the 11 am tour. It starts with a tour of the winery, which was enjoyable and interesting. We then had a meal with a sizable selection of antipasto as well as wine....More
The Beauty of Verrazano and our tour guide are unsurpassed! We had an amazing time and the views are Gorgeous! The food was amazing, but the Chianti was the Best we have ever had! Love this place and we will be back!
We visited it as part of our tour in Tuscany and it was absolutely fantastic. It was an enjoyable afternoon, with a guided tour through the property, and wine tasting and a great lunch afterwards. The store of the winery is plenty of options for...More
First the tour of the gardens and the winery was amazing. Then we sat down and had a multi-course meal with Verrazzano Wines. it was off the charts. Our guide for the tour and the meal was great and extremely informative. Such a wonderful experience.
My wife and I visited the winery today, we booked a private tour via our hotel in greve commencing at 10am.
We were given an excellent overview of the winery it’s origins and history, viewed the the 15th century underground cellars and as a bonus...More
Delightful tour of gardens, wine cellar and Castello di Verrazzano. Delicious luncheon with wine tasting. Prosciutto ham to die for, magnificent olive oil and balsamic vinegar, all grown on the vineyard grounds. Was a fabulous afternoon - thankful that we were on a tour bus...More
Despite some friends raving about this place we had a terrible experience for lunch. Travelling with a 2 year old I called to ask what time the wine tour started with lunch. I was told 1 pm. We arrived at 1 and then was told...More

We produce extra virgin olive oil since 1170. For this we do not serve butter.
We toured many wineries while in Chianti, but this was the best. The history is fascinating, and this tour shows off everything from drying the grapes, to storing in the oak barrels, to the cellars, and tasting. The family has a rich history....this incredible estate...More
I am vacationing in Italy in Sept. and will be going from Rome to the Castello Di Verrazzano- Greve in Chianti. What is my best bet here? I am not returning to Rome, from Tuscany I am going to Venice and that is where I am flying out from. Should I take a train to Florence and rent a car from there? This is my first time to Italy so I am totally lost. Is renting a car and getting around in this region a pain? Thanks for the help!!!

We are just back from a week in Tuscany and had a rent car. It is not like driving at home because the roads are more narrow than we are used to and there are little villages every few miles. Once you get over that, it is probably the best way to see the smaller towns and the countryside. Plan on making more mistakes and wrong turns than you would on strange roads in the States but you will see some beautiful countryside. I hope you aren't traveling alone as a navigator with a good map is...More
Castello di Verrazzano - Wine Tour/Lunch (2 Replies)
My husband and I will be in Tuscany this May, and I would really like to do the Wine Tour & lunch at Castello di Verrazzano. I contacted them via their reservation form on the website, and received the following automatic email response almost immediately: Thank you for your contact, we will follow up your request as soon as possible That was 3 weeks ago, and I haven't heard back from them regarding my reservation...just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience...is May just so...More

You're trying to reserve a little too soon. Also, check your spam cache for email--for some reason, a lot of American spam filters seem to catch emails from Italy. We waited until we got to Tuscany to make our reservation in October, because we weren't sure which day we were going to want to go. We called on Monday and got a reservation on Friday. If you're nervous, try again in April.
Quick lunch in Greve (9 Replies)
Hi all, I'm going on a Chianti day trip from Florence and between Castello di Verrazzano and Castello di Brolio we will have approximately 1,5 hours free time in Greve (it's an organised tour). That sure isn't a whole lot of time but besides lunch it would be nice to have a quick stroll and at least get a glimpse of the town which looks very pretty in pictures. :) So I don't want to spend the whole 1,5 hours sitting having lunch. :) Would anybody have any recommendation on what could be...More

On the main square is a bakery and most bars can make you a panini to go. Maybe the butcher on the square also does panini's, I am not sure.
