Visitors to this romantic estate have agreed the trip was well worth it: the family is warm and hospitable, the grounds are ruggedly romantic and the wines are impressive.

We produce extra virgin olive oil since 1170. For this we do not serve butter.

We toured many wineries while in Chianti, but this was the best. The history is fascinating, and this tour shows off everything from drying the grapes, to storing in the oak barrels, to the cellars, and tasting. The family has a rich history....this incredible estate...More

We took the tour and were impressed! Tour starts with the gardens and a bit of history of the place. We got to see the cellars, and I was excited to see the grapes hanging for the Vin Santo. Really interesting. The wine tasting came...More

We had lunch here after we tasted their wine at the bar-cafe in Florence. This spot is just blessed and so worth it. The historical aspect of these grounds should not be passed over too.

I wish I could leave a five-star review for this winery’s lovely tour, tasting, and view, but our visit and their wine was sadly soured by sloppy packaging. After enjoying our visit, my girlfriend and I decided to purchase some wine to take home with...More

Need transportation advice in Tuscany (2 Replies)
I am vacationing in Italy in Sept. and will be going from Rome to the Castello Di Verrazzano- Greve in Chianti. What is my best bet here? I am not returning to Rome, from Tuscany I am going to Venice and that is where I am flying out from. Should I take a train to Florence and rent a car from there? This is my first time to Italy so I am totally lost. Is renting a car and getting around in this region a pain? Thanks for the help!!!

We are just back from a week in Tuscany and had a rent car. It is not like driving at home because the roads are more narrow than we are used to and there are little villages every few miles. Once you get over that, it is probably the best way to see the smaller towns and the countryside. Plan on making more mistakes and wrong turns than you would on strange roads in the States but you will see some beautiful countryside. I hope you aren't traveling alone as a navigator with a good map is...More

My husband and I will be in Tuscany this May, and I would really like to do the Wine Tour & lunch at Castello di Verrazzano. I contacted them via their reservation form on the website, and received the following automatic email response almost immediately: Thank you for your contact, we will follow up your request as soon as possible That was 3 weeks ago, and I haven't heard back from them regarding my reservation...just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience...is May...More

You're trying to reserve a little too soon. Also, check your spam cache for email--for some reason, a lot of American spam filters seem to catch emails from Italy. We waited until we got to Tuscany to make our reservation in October, because we weren't sure which day we were going to want to go. We called on Monday and got a reservation on Friday. If you're nervous, try again in April.
Quick lunch in Greve (9 Replies)
Hi all, I'm going on a Chianti day trip from Florence and between Castello di Verrazzano and Castello di Brolio we will have approximately 1,5 hours free time in Greve (it's an organised tour). That sure isn't a whole lot of time but besides lunch it would be nice to have a quick stroll and at least get a glimpse of the town which looks very pretty in pictures. :) So I don't want to spend the whole 1,5 hours sitting having lunch. :) Would anybody have any recommendation on what could be...More

On the main square is a bakery and most bars can make you a panini to go. Maybe the butcher on the square also does panini's, I am not sure.
