This Basilica, named "The End of Land" is built at the southernmost tip of the Italian heel, at a place where the Adriatic meets the Ionian sea.
The 18c Church with adjacent Monastery is on top of a hill above the town, imo a very average one, both outside and inside. Many souvenir stalls around further ruin the feeling, making it a very touristy place.
From the Church terrace is really a great seas view, but that's it - a max 45 min visit including the time for finding parking which is really an issue in August peak season.

Truly gorgeous. You can get there directly by car with parking and stalls. Excellent view over the harbor and towards the sea. Presence of benches in the shade to relax, reflect and admire this beauty. It is no coincidence that it was already known to the Romans, from here onwards the 'colonies' began.

The place is actually called "the end of the land" as it is located at the very tip of the Salento peninsula which represents the heel of the Italian boot. The tourist town of Leuca and the beach are worth seeing, but the nearby lighthouse is certainly a spot you do not want to miss. A huge platform on a ledge oversees the Ionian and the Adriatic Sea, the views are just breathtaking, especially after rain, when visibility is good. The lighthouse is huge and visible from a great distance. I am not sure if it can be visited. When I was there, it was closed and it seemed to be occupied by the military.
There is a large sanctuary of St. Mary across the platform. Its exterior has an appearance of a fortified palace rather than a church. Due to its position it was exposed to attacks in the past, so this may be the reason. Inside it is a nice-looking church, but somewhat dark.
The place is well-equipped for tourists. You can have a drink or a snack and there are also a lot of souvenir stands.
Parking is a short walk from the platform.

18th century basilica, located in the large square in the upper part of Leuca. Simple on the outside, sober on the inside. It is called "De finibus Terrae" precisely because it is located at the south-eastern end of Italy.

It really is a magical place, the meeting of the 2 seas and the end of our heel. Beautiful and very suggestive. It's nice to spend some time there and take lots of beautiful pictures. All that beauty will remain in your eyes. Right there there is also a bar that makes delicious Apulian calzones.

A peaceful spot with a relaxed atmosphere. It’s a great place to have a coffee and a sandwich while pondering your next move at the end of Italy.

Basilica is truly at the "End of the Land", as indicated by its name. We found it quiet and peaceful. Located behind the lighthouse.

This is definitely worth the drive. This is the very tip of Puglia--where both seas--Ionian and Adriatic, come together. Many tour buses visit this sanctuary, however, it did not feel crowded. Peaceful visit.

This is one of those truly exceptional/inspirational places that it is possible to visit in Italy. It exudes peace and tranquillity.
Take time to wander and enjoy.
There are some magnificent views from the surrounding terraces.
Note: There is limited free parking beside the Basilica.

Ciao! Dal lungomare c’è qualche navetta che porta al santuario? A piedi è fattibile?

Dal lungomare è molto vicino pertanto pens che sia una bella passeggiata, In alternativa c'è il parcheggio auto ai piedi del santuario o lo si può raggiungere salendo a piedi la cascata monumentale, navetta non credo sia fattibile.
