We went to Santa Maria di Leuca, which is located at the end of the "heel" of the Italian boot at the confluence of the Adriatic and Ionian seas. We walked to Punta Ristola.
From Punta Ristola, we weer amazed by the wonderful panoramic viewpoints on the bay of Santa Maria di Leuca and on the cape Meliso dominated by the lighthouse and the basilica. We visited (by land) the beautiful Grotta del Diavolo, which is located close to Punta Ristola!
A fantastic place !!!

A short walk from the parking area is the point that looks over where the Adriatic and Ionian Seas meet. All the trail there is a little rocky it was not too difficult. I think there is a further trail down to the Devil’s Cave but none of us tried that. Great views!

It is a 15 min rugged hike to the most east part of Italy. The trail is not well maintained or interesting, except for an out of place figure of Padre Pio. But the view, especially at sunrise and sunset is worth the effort. From there is also sobering to think that less than three miles away an italian submarine was sunk by torpedoes from a british submarine and still lies underwater with a crew of 70, who were alive for 3 days after it was hit.

Stand on the tip of italys stiletto heel and look out to the beautiful marine sea and horizon. Rocky outcrop easy to reach but stony path a bit tricky in flip flops! Worth a quick stop

This seems to be the sothernmost point of Italy and anyway is the point where the two seas -Ionian & Adriatic - do meet offering a fascinating view.
Of course you can not leave without some nice pictures ..

This place is really beautiful to be seen, taking pictures of, etc. The sea is navy blue and green sometimes. To be seen.

A bit of scrubland, a partial fence, large flag pole with the Italian tricolore, a bronze statue of Padre Pio (he of the stigmata if you believe that sort of thing), rocky outcrop. 15 mins is more than enough. Given what else Puglia has to offer, only go if you are time rich. Or not.
