Basilica of St Cosma and Damiano, Alberobello This church has an ornate alter with frescos of the 2 saints behind it and is situated in the opposite side of Alberobello from the ‘trulli’ village. This area is less touristy and worth a visit. The church...More

Lovely Basilica near all the trulli cottages. Very peaceful & well maintained. Nicely lit at night. Bells ring on the hour & sometimes for a long time on a Saturday night which can be quite noisy, if you have a moment it is worth going...More

The current building was replaced by a small chapel built in 1609. The Church was built in the neoclassical style, with a layout in the form of a Latin cross, designed by architect Alberobello Antonio Curri. The work lasted a little less than 3 years....More

The interior is fairly spartan but the paintings of the stations of the cross & altar area are almost modern/cubist in style. The departure from traditional ecclesiastical art is striking & fully justifies a visit. If driving to Alberobello DO NOT arrive late morning or...More

A lovely place to visit while walking the streets of Alberobello and taking in the wonderful scenery

There is a serenity and calmness within, like many churches of this stature, but I particularly liked the powerful simplicity of some of the religious paintings within. The Basilica is maintained in pristine condition, and is definitely worth a visit ...

Since we were in town we walked around and visited the center and the basilic. Nice church as most of the churches in Italy but nothing very impressive. Just go if you have time.

It's exactly in the centre of Alberobello and walking distance to the Trulli's. It's amazing to find a Basilica in Alberobello. It's so tall it can be viewed far away. Very well preserved and could be visited when in the town for the trulli's.

We just had a walk around the city and found this Basilica. It was a nice Italian church in the other part of the town, surrounded by restaurants and small caffees. If you fancy a walk and will be near - take a look-in.
