This is not the main reason for people to come to Alberobello but, still, it worth a short visit. As for the most of the Italian churches, the entrance is free.

Balanced exterior with twin towers. Simply beautiful inside too. We sat a while in the tranquillity, appreciating the statues, alter, frescoes and calmness. Well worth the effort to visit..

This beautiful church dominates the central area of the beautiful town. Grab a coffee and appreciate the lovely architecture then take a wander up to the building to get a sense of the place.

In 1635 a small church was built with a painting on the altar of Madonna between Saints Cosmas and Damian. The present Basilica was constructed in 1882 in the same spot as the 1635 chapel. The entry portal is 17 steps above street level and topped with a lunette of Christ on the cross-surrounded by 6 saints. The entry portal is flanked by two bell towers, which are connected by a balustrade. The interior is a single nave design with barrel roofed side chapels. There are two wooden statues of Cosma and Damiano from the 18th century.
