Such a great experience. The landscape are so nice and the tunnels so funny. You go in the night for a while and then discover sea. The atmosphere is very special.

Don't miss this easy ride in the Italian Riviera from Levanto through the seaside resort village of Bonassola and on to the tiny fishing port of Framura. Levanto has a couple of bike rental shops that facilitate this round trip through the near sea level tunnels once used by trains and now perfectly paved and lit for cycling. You won't need an ebike because it's all flat! A cudo goes to Frederico at Villa Margherita by the Sea for turning us on to this experience

excellent biking and hiking trail, car-free, therefore super safe.
The view along the seaside is wonderful. Lots of tunnels, but all very clean and pleasant.

This is a pleasant walking & cycling path. This is another option if you have the time after seeing Cinque Terre.

As above, with convenient and good cafe at Framura. There is a fiar bit of time spent in tunnels, but the breaks give excellent view of the coast. Perfect for a hot day!

We have chosen this route after we`ve seen 5 Terre-it was the best decision. The trail is not crowded at all ,you can walk it until the end and enjoy the sea view in the same time. We``ve stopped for a slice of foccacia in one of the villages- overall a lovely day.

We highly recommend renting a bike and taking this sea passage to Bonassola (or even further). It is an amazing experience. The ride from Levanto is about half hour one way (with stops to take pictures). It is an easy ride, even on a really hot day because the train tunnel keeps you cool. The bike path is well maintained and clearly marked. The sea view is gorgeous!! You will end up with many beautiful pictures.

You will discover a few small and more quiet beaches (the one we ended up going is a rock beach, you will need water shoes). We actually rode back to Levanto and ordered an award-winning pizza (Le Picea) and bought some drinks and then rode back to one of the small beaches between Levanto and Bonassola and enjoyed a nice lunch and a beautiful afternoon on the beach.

Other info:

We rented our bike in Levanto, 8euro for half day, we paid 15euro for 2 bikes. This is the rate for city bikes (which are good enough for this path), mountain bikes are a lil bit more expensive.

Making use of old train tunnels great way to travel by bicycle between Levanto and Framura. Wear light jacket at night since can get cool.
