My wife and I visited here whilst on a weeks holiday in Sorrento and just fancied a change from the normal tourist hustle and bustle. The gardens are not near the port but you can travel to them on a No1 or No 2 bus from the port, the ride takes approximately 10 minutes, it is worth getting a guide... More

We visited Giardini La Mortella in the afternoon. Had a pleasant walk through the garden. We took amazing pictures of the pond with Lilies and Lotus. The view from the top was magnificent, and it would be nice if the place could be open later in Summer for sunsets.

We were staying in Ischia for a weeks holiday in August. This was a must see while we were there. We caught the bus from the bus station in Ischia Porta 2.40 euro return each. The driver told us where to get off. It was only a 5 minute walk to the entrance admission was 12 euro's. The gardens are... More

The gardens are incredibly beautiful, stocked full of interesting plants and trees, that wind their way up a hillside. I was a little disappointed in two things; the cost is fairly steep to visit a garden of this size, and having paid to get in, they then expect you to pay another €1 each to gain entry to a tropical... The Walton Trust caring for these gardens now following Lady Walton's death. They are doing a fine job. Such a variety of views and very cool and peaceful. For me a much better Ischia option than the thermal spa visit, but horses for courses I suppose

Had a lovely afternoon here and they really are beautiful. Quite a steep hill with lots of terraces. Views are stunning from the top areas. Lovely cafe serving food and drinks.

A definite must see for anyone visiting Ischia. This is as nice a tropical garden as you will see anywhere. There's even an aviary. It's a pity that there is no 'all-in' family value ticket because the people ahead of us turned away as they couldn't afford the individual tickets. It really is an adult venue but to be honest,...
