The museum is a small jewel located in the historic center of Nola, you don't pay for the ticket and the welcome from the staff is fantastic, so much so that one of the staff acted as a guide explaining to us all the most important finds and the their story, more than an hour and a half visit. What can I say: thank you!!! Inside the museum there are some true archaeological rarities. It absolutely must be visited

a beautiful archaeological museum in the ancient Canossian monastery. quite large (about 30 rooms on 3 floors) with important finds from the Bronze Age (1800 BC) to the Middle Ages. two world must-sees: the village buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 1700 BC, a Bronze Age Pompeii; and the statues of the villa where Augustus probably died of splendid workmanship. Numerous and magnificent other finds. There is a valuable art gallery from the 17th and 18th century Neapolitan art, a large nucleus of riggiole (majolica) from the 17th to the 20th century, and salt dedicated to the Nola lilies (Unesco heritage site). Free entry all day 9am-7pm. Highly recommended!!!

Awesome collection! Many people do not realize that Nola pre-dates Rome, so of course there are some archaeological treasures here.

Off the beaten track and near a somewhat gritty area, this free museum has some excellent exhibits. From bronze age, to Roman, to Renaissance, up to the modern era, with a decidedly local slant.

Very nice place, which reserves many surprises and many discoveries. It's a shame that it's little known because it deserves so much! To visit. Recommended
