This trip by boat to Capri was booked by our travel agent. We were met by our captain Francesco and had a beautiful tour of the Amalfi coast. As passed through the famous rock formation Faraglioni, Francesco played the Dean Martin song That’s Amore. We sang, we drank Prosecco, we swam. We had so much fun that we never left the boat in Capri.
The best surprise was that he was able to take us to Lo Scoglio for lunch. Such a treat. Francesco was fantastic. We had the best day of our trip. Perfetto!

I was with a small group of friends and it was our first time on the Amalfi Coast so thought a couple of days on the water to soak in the sights and atmosphere would be great. We selected Amalfi Sails for a day going up and down the Amalfi Coast and then a second day sailing to and around Capri. It was perfect. Everything was easy to book and they are clear on pricing and activities.

We had Francesco for our skipper both days on the Tornado 40 and it did not disappoint. It was an almost brand new boat in excellent condition. Francesco was awesome. Very professional with great experience plus he was a local so he had a clear POV on what we should do each day so we just followed his lead. However, he remained flexible to what we wanted to do. Which, in the end, was to anchor off several coves or off a couple of islands at different points and swim/lay out vs going to shore to sightsee. He booked two different coastal restaurants at this suggestion to stop for lunch when we boarded each day. Both were fun, relaxed and in beautiful settings.
Personally, I just really enjoyed how cool and fun Francesco was. He was easy going and engaging with all of us but very decisive and well timed at each of our stops for a swim or exploration. He made both days on our boat much better than we had expected. Definitely ask for Francesco to be your Skipper!
We would book Amalfi Sails again without hesitation.

Me and my wife had an amazing time onboard of Princess V50 for a day trip. Crew members Francesca and Fulvio were extremely helpful and kind to us, making this a very unique experience. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone who wants an exclusive sightseeing of the region.

I made a reservation with Almalfi Sails 5 month before my trip to Italy in July.I chose the Crunchi 34 and paid EUR180 in advance. I received confirmation the confimation by e-mail from Caterina and everything seemed fine for a wonderful boat trip. Getting close to the date of my reservation, I received no contact from them, whre to meet the capital (the reservation just said we would leave from Positano). Then the day before I sent a message asking where we should meet the capitain. To my surprise they said the boat had a mechanical problem (which a tourist in Italy will never be able to check...) and offered a much simpler and smaller boat, wihtout a cabin, which was important for my mother-in-law, for the same price! A sound company would offer a better boat or a big price discount. I refused the othe boat and asked for a refund. Then I had to choosa a boat in the last minute a pay a higher price. To make things worse, until now I have not received the EUR180 back from them.

Differently from what you are saying Mr Eduard Sampaio, Amalfisails is a serious company, well known and estimated from hotels, agencies and many direct guests that have had experience to rent our lovely boats. We did withdraw the deposit amount back to you (as the copy that we sent you in july, following your bank details) in the same week when you had the boat reservation. If it still hasn't arrive we will check with our bank and we will help you out to understand what happened. If it is necessary we will do another wire transfer. We thought everything was ok not hearing back from you. Unfortunately unplanned events happen, on that day, the boat that you booked, the fuel pump had a problem. We tried to resolve in the best of ways sending an open space boat of the same length. Sadly being in very high season it was difficult for us to find another boat. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

This was a wonderful experience and our captain Gian Luca was excellent and brought us to a beautiful restaurant with great food on Capri. Additionally, he provided great views of the many grotto's in the area and expertly backed up the Itama 48' into each grotto. We highly recommend him!

We had an amazing time during our week stay in Amalfi
Fluvio our skipper took care of every single detail starting with an impeccable timing and availability.
It seemed like he was reading our minds about where to go, what to see/expect, when to eat and most importantly, making sure that we were having an extraordinary time ALL THE TIME.
The boat... really nice and roomy.
The ride was as smooth as it can be, even though we were experiencing some rough seas due to a big storm happened in Scilly our skipper managed the vessel incredibly.

About the scenery, there's so much to see, walk, learn and taste that it will certainly take several weeks to do all.

Nevertheless it is worth visiting as much as possible starting early in Capri and then all the coast line (including a few private properties along the way)
Therefore we spent most of the time visiting where and like the locals since the rest of the places looked like anthills, thousands of tourists overcrowding all the typical touristic destinations.

Food.... Best pastas made on the spot, freshest vegetables, seafood, etc.

Wine.... amazing regional wines, hard to reccomend one or two........ just try as much as possible, hard to get dissatisfied.

Thank you Fluvio, we'll be back

Thank Fluvio, we will be back

We had a wonderful day trip on the Gagliotta 40! We opted to not have a guide but our captain Rafael was very friendly, helpful and pointed out and explained a few things to us.

We were picked up from Naples and firstly circumvented Capri (we chose not to get off at Capri). Rafael then took us to see the emerald grotto and white grotto (we chose to skip the blue grotto). Rafael took us to ristorante il Cantuccio in Nerano for lunch. After lunch we stopped at a beach for a quick swim and then to Positano.

Even though a few of us got a little sea sick, we all enjoyed our day on the boat!

Thank you also to Natalie for being very patient and answering all my questions during the booking process.

I booked a private sunset cruise for 3 hours for me and my husband since it’s our delayed honeymoon and almost 1st year anniversary :). We didn’t want to travel in a group setting as we had just finished our 2 weeks Roadtrip in Italy. Let me tell you how amazing our experience was.

But first of all, i was quite shocked when i read some of the negative reviews...!

Let’s start with booking experience:
- We aren’t planners and love to go with the flow since my hub is very familiar with European countries, so we booked this tour literally 2 days prior and I did a lot of research and I think I emailed Natalie quite late and she responded back within minutes. She was very informative and honest with me (I saw the capri by night tour but wanted to inquire about a shorter trip) - she gave me every place the boat would stop, differences between the 2 trips, cost difference, what’s included, etc. not to mention I sent her so many emails in between lol sorry Natalie!!

Day of cruise:
- Our captain Sal was soooooo on time (even arrived earlier than expected) super accommodating, asked if we wanted drinks or anything, offered towels cushions, tried his best to show us everything along the coast, and of course I got to see all of Amalfi coast during sunset. He also checks in every once in a while to see if we were doing alright.

Sorry Sal I got scared a few times when the big boats passed by hahahaha 😅

Boat:
- we had the Cranchie 32 or maybe it was 34 lol i cant remember, that boat was soooooo clean and looked new. Everything was fresh. When i saw a whole bunch of fishing boats at the dock i was legit thinking itd be one of those i mean who knows right, turned out of course I had this sick one 😁😁😁

Sunset was BEAUTIFUL!!! See pics!!!!

Grazie Amalfi Sails :D xoxo

I am a 30 year veteran of the travel industry, and president of a large travel company. For the second time in 2 years I visited one of my favorite places in all of Europe, the Amalfi Coast. This year I traveled with my husband and friends to Ravello and Positano. I once again relied on the experts of Amalfi Sails to provide unforgettable charter experiences. We booked three excursions with Amalfi Sails this trip. Sales Manager Natalie Santelia understood our desires completely and arranged a perfect adventure each day. The crews, provisions, destinations and itinerary flexibility all exceeded our expectations. Visits to the Grotta Azzurra (Blue Grotto) and lunch at La Conca del Sogna were absolute standouts. In fact, we lunched at La Conca del Sogna twice! We enjoyed every minute and the hours flew by. If you find yourself on the Amalfi Coast, treat yourself to the experience of a lifetime, and charter with Amalfi Sails.

Would loved to have given feedback directly but as there is no follow-up on my experience (even after the €830 charge), I feel it only fair to review on TA. Had a day trip on the Fiart from Positano with no guide, just an Italian captain who could barely speak English but granted, did his best even though I didn't really understand what he said/pointed out. I will take some responsibility for this as even though I said I'd like the 'commentary' after a choice of an English speaking guide or not, I did not explicably say book me in for one. First lesson learnt. I had however been given what seemed an itinerary including the grottos which was basically THE reason for booking a private boat - the grottos! Otherwise I could have paid for a ferry like everyone else but I did not want to be treated like one of many. That's also why I accepted the charge, it reflected a personal tour, unlike the hoards that flood the ferries. Took a long time to get to Capri and the coastline was stunning but nothing that I wasn't seeing swimming out from Positano. In this time, there was no offer of water/snacks or really any info regarding the boat. The two of us had a big boat and no idea about it, eg were we able to sit out on the front? Was there anything downstairs we should know about? Whether it was the Cpt's lack of English or not I'm not sure but for this service, I'd say a bare minimum would be to give the passengers some basic orienteering or the boat, ie help yourselves to water, make yourself at home, there's a WC downstairs for your convenience etc, its not difficult but for someone like me who's never been on a small boat, it would have been great. Was there water included or snacks, we will never know as none was offered although I did ask for a water and was given one. Kind of thought that that would lead to other offerings...but no. I 'm not sure why other reviewers mentioned the inclusions and on the Amalfi Sails website it also indicates such inclusions.
Re: the grottos. I wouldn't know. After backing into a few cliff faces and seeing other groups swimming and having fun, we'd leave and I'd ask, 'was that a grotto?'. The answer was yes but didn't get much further than that. One other group swimming through a cave (I can only assume the green grotto) were having heaps of fun and we were told we couldn't do the same as we'd get fined. That was basically it for the grottos apart from being steered from even going near what I know now as the blue grotto as it was super busy. We were dropped off at Capri's marina which I thought was horrendous. Total tourist trash but I'm sure out of this area things were possibly better. Didn't have anyone to ask but googled on my return to see what the hype was about.
The lunch was at a nice seaside village, quaint and small and seemingly not there to grab the poor tourist and wring them dry. Restaurant clearly has an arrangement with either the Cpt or Amalfi Sails. The restaurant collected us via one of their shuttles (we hadn't even said where we wanted to eat) and was given a table on arrival. Felt obligated to stay. No menu - be warned. Food was fine although difficult when you can't choose what you want. I don't eat seafood so was given the ravioli option, whatever, bill was €105. Knew there was a catch and they got us hook line and sinker. Lesson for us again and by now I'm feeling kind of screwed. After this experience (don't get me wrong, food wasn't bad) I suggested we go back to Positano as the coast was already where we had been and by now I knew we were not going to get the grottos or the swimming spots like I'd imagined. Cpt offered for us to swim a few times but where? Im imagining protected little coves, grottos, areas where only he could tell us. But no.
To top all of, on arrival into Positano, was asked if we were paying by cash. I had clearly indicated in email correspondence I'd be using a credit card to which he handed me the phone to Natalie where the ONLY option was to cruise to Amalfi (20mins each way) to have my card swiped. By this point I was pretty over the whole non-experience. To spend another hour on the boat which by now had me choking on the exhaust seemed like I was being punished for spending my money on this boat ride.
Would I go again, definitely not. Would I recommend to others? No. I'd get my own boat (easy to rent) or if its a trip to Capri you want, get the ferry. Save your money on getting a personal trip around Capri and/or the grottos when you get there.
If you do go, stay clear away from the back seats unless you want to swallow diesel fumes your entire trip!

Dear Kat. We definitely appreciate every kind of criticism and suggestions about our services. In fact, it’s one of the only ways we can improve. I have to say that the captain, Antonello, told me all the places he took you to visit: White Grotto, Grotta Meravigliosa, Natural Arch, Coral Grotto, Lovers Arch, Villa Malaparte, The Faraglioni rock formations, Marina Piccola, Green Grotto and Blu Grotto. Regarding swimming in the Green Grotto, it is against the law for EVERYONE to swim from chartered boats in the Grotto as there have been many accidents this year. Antonello said this for your own safety. The Blue Grotto was very crowded as it is all summer, and after waiting 10 minutes he pointed out that the wait would have been at least an hour, you decided to leave. Regarding the Capri Marina, that is the main port and the reason why it is crowded with tourists. Even in the Main square at the top of the Island, it is always very caotic. Regarding lunch, Antonello suggested Nerano, a small village away from the crowds of Capri. He suggested Il Cantuccio, as it is a very nice restaurant and our clients are always happy with the delicious food and private beach (also pointed out to you by Antonello) . Infact, they catch their own fish everyday! We ABSOLUTLEY have no arrangement with any restaurant, they are good friends of ours as we have been working with them for years and they offer our captains lunch. Regarding payment, unfortunatley our credit card machine that day had a technical problem that we tried to resolve but were not able to in time. We honestly thought that it would not have been a disappointment for you to see the pearl of the Amalfi Coast, Amalfi. As mentioned in my e-mail, we hope that next time you will be visiting the Amalfi Coast you will join us on a day tour for a true experience of what our services offer. No client has ever been this disappointed in our services, and the staff of Amalfi Sails send their true apologies.
