We jumped on a boat from Chora and 30 minutes later we arrived at this lovely peaceful beach. A family of swans visited us. Well worth a visit. No cafes or ice cream vans, just enjoy the swimming and exploring the cave.

The beach is really nice and extremely quiet in early June. We walked there from the monastery. The way down is easy, the way up a bit harder (but we did it in 1h15).
Shadow is sparse on the path and on the beach, so bring water and sun lotion.
At this period, no beach bar was visible.

A lovely and beautiful beach, thankfully still hard to get to by car. There is a small canteen that is open during high season and the road to get there is very rough and virtually impassable without a 4x4.
You can rent a boat from Karaoulanis in Chora and go there yourself, or you can take the planned boat that goes there as well. Both of these options are only weather-permitting and boy is there a lot of wind in the Cyclades! I have gone there multiple times both by car and by boat and every time it is stunningly beautiful.
The waters are crisp and clear, the beach has tiny pebbles that are almost sand-like, and the beach is large enough so you can avoid other crowds. I love this beach on the low season or late spring. A true gem that's worth visiting, but always come prepared with water, umbrellas, and patience in terms of getting there and back :)

If you plan to visit by car/motorbike think twice. The road is rocky & very long. A very well advertised beach but with nothing more to offer vs the competition (ie Vitali beach) plus a nightmare to reach with anything but a boat.

Came here by boat from Chora (12.5 euros/person) due to hard dirt road access. The beach is nice (not spectacular) with a nice natural environment because of the river which ends there.
However, we were negatively surprised by the noise coming from the beach bar, both from the music and the very loud electric generator.
In addition to that, view to the sea was disturbed by a large number of boats parking all across, so blocking it all. Plus it was stressy to swim a little further because some fast boats were coming in with high speed (which is illegal) plus there were also a few jet-skis close to the shore making it even more dangerous for swimmers.
On some point we also saw a large wave of bubbles and garbage floating out, probably one of the boats emptied their trash there:(
This beach should have been completely unspoilt, but human intervention once more ruined it...

Endless beach with crystal green-blue water.
No facilities like sun umbrellas and deck chairs but is worth a visit.
Perfect for panoramic photo-shots. Mid September is an ideal season as you'll never meet more
than 10 people. Ideal beach for nudism lovers.

Not much to say other than this beach is a must for the island!
This beach has amazing crystal clear turquoise water. The fact that there is a boat taking you with just 10 Euros with return makes it even more unique! Just remember to get something to eat and drink (and maybe a tent for shade). Extra Tip: In the middle of the beach there is an oasis full with trees and river streamlets that will make you feel like you are in a fairy land (See pictures)! Just walk about 15-20mins going towards the trees.

We took the Steflines at Chora harbor in the afternoon (caal for reservation) and in half hour from Chora after a nice boat trip you are at this beautifull beach .... A few hours later the boat picks everybody up again ... € 12 for an adult return, and our child went along for free (9 years) great day

This must be one of the most stunningly beautiful beaches in the whole of Greece. It is a wide stretch of pure sand in a very pretty cove with easy access into the water. However, it has its drawbacks! Because it is so sandy, it is best avoided when a strong north wind is blowing, unless you want a free dermabrasion session! It is difficult to access by road as it takes about an hour from the top Tarmac road down a very long, windy and sometimes difficult unmade dirt track - probably best done in a 4x4. Lots of people get there by boat from Chora, which is the easiest way. We have walked there many times from a footpath leading from the back of the Agias Nicholias monastery. This takes about an hour and a half down, and about two and a half hours back up, and is not for the faint-hearted. There is an awful lot of going up on the way back! However, it was always well worth it, and as we have gone out of season we have sometimes been lucky enough to have this stunning beach all to ourselves - heavenly!

Grazie anticipatamente a tutti

Merci

Are there any umprellas and sun beds at the beach ????
Written August 16, 2018
Not in early June when I was there. It is a rather wild beach. There was a sort of big tent on the side to protect from the sun. But it was not so big and easily crowded.
