So sorry hotels do not advertise about current events high in that Kastro more precisely... Just passing by a leaflet, we were there for the last season event, i.e. a BOUZOUKI evening (October 25, 2019), which was MORE THAN AN EVENING : friendly welcome with drinks and smiles preceding a wonderful concert with two exceptional musicians (bouzouki and guitar), introducing rebetiko,,smyrneiko, laïko. Great dancing demonstrations, including sirtaki and a subtle, reserved (indeed, indeed) belly dance. The whole public felt as family. A MUST-DO in 2020 !

My rating is based on a previous visit.
The family who own the building in which the museum is housed have had a disagreement. The sister, (matriarch), has decided to sell the building. The sister lives in Italy. The brother, who has been responsible for the operation of the museum, is a local. He is very upset.

We enjoyed our visit to this museum. Lots of interesting historic artifacts. It's an uphill walk to get to the museum so wear comfortable footwear. After the museum, stop into the restaurant for good food with spectacular views. There's a cute little shop downstairs that has unique items to bring back from your Naxos visit.

We didn't actually view the museum but did purchase tickets to one of the performances in the Cultural Festival the museum organizes and hosts. We saw Nikos Giolias perform. We were outside in a protected corner with the castle as the backdrop behind Nikos. Stunning performance and highlight of our time in Naxos.

I would not go out of my way to get here, but there was something very striking about the place. It certainly wasn't the objects d'arte, for they were quite ordinary. But the view out of the window to the harbor is stunning. Because you are inside an old building it is dark and then looking out to the bright sea makes the stunning sea even more appealing. I could easily see what it would feel like to live here centuries ago and look to the sea, waiting for a vessel to arrive. Other than that, skip it.

A couple at the hotel we stayed recommended us to go there for the "sunset concert" we enjoyed it a lot, there was a piano and a violin. Some seats in the back are cheaper than in the front, but there is no need to seat in the most expensive seats as the place is not so big anyway. It is located in the top of the old city in Naxos

Today, May 29, 2019 walked around for an hour and could not find it. Went into the Domus Festival office and the manager there said it is closed- lots of reconstruction going on. (The Domus Festival used to take place in it.) Not sure if it is permanently closed or not.

A very quiet and pleasant place to study how Greece got birth, with wide quality artifacts, information and books to read, nicely maintained the culture , loved the ambiance, must visit information provided is very good and comes to a pocket-friendly entrance price of 4 Euros

Based on a previous visit, this is such a special place and was very sad to hear of its temporary closure, the owner also started the excellent Naxos cultural festival. I was lucky enough to see on the Andreas Boutsikakis concert, and hope the festival and the museum continue,

The title Venetian museum is grossly misleading, and there is nothing with this museum that has anything whatsoever to do with the time that the Venetians ruled Naxos. And at five Euro entrance it is ridiculously overpriced, my strong recommendation is that you avoid this place and save your time and money.
The only redeeming feature of this place is that it has a nice view of Hora from the balcony, except for that, all it has on display are the heirlooms of the family that has lived in the tower for 400 years, so if you are interested that they had a letter from the pope from 1976 or the clothes their ancestors wore in 1850, then do go, but otherwise steer clear.
Most of the rooms display strange art for sale, and there was a weird German lady playing the violin in one of the rooms, giving the place a feel of a David Lynch movie.
Not recommended, the place is totally bis.
