The Casle is amazing and the small alley could get you to the top where the view of the sea and the " Portara" was panoramic and unique!!!

The castle is a must see during the day and night. We actually booked an evening of entertainment within the castle walls. It was a night of Greek dancing, Greek music, Greek story telling, and unlimited Greek wine and ouzo. While I do think the drinks were watered down, they were unlimited, The price was 28 Euro to sit in... More

If you miss the kastro, you've missed the best part of Chora. Take time to wander along the passages to find local artists, museums and restaurants. You will also see Naxos cats lazily stretched out in the sun, or in the case of a kitten, meowing for his food as it was dinner time. Just take your time. We explored... More

Kastro is a place to be if you are on a hot day, stroll along narrow streets, visit small local shops with souvenirs and enjoy the atmosphere

A beautiful crumbling old neighborhood with more charm and delightful surprises . visually rich and diverse. Windows and doors into other worlds. The old Ursuline convent school has been meticulously restored as the gateway to a spectacular walk through a maze of mysterious and timeworn streets and rambling pathways. Be ready for a lengthy and rewarding walking adventure.

one is transported to many historical time periods simultaneously, just by enjoying a walk inside the Kastro (word meaning Castle for what is actually a medieval fortress). Houses were built as of 1207 when the island was conquered by the Venetians, using the material of the ancient acropolis that was located on top of that hill. One can see the... More

Walked up to the Kastro early on a Sunday morning. All the little alleys are fun to get lost in and there are plenty of cafes and shops to while away time. Great view of the town and bay from the cafe that is housed in a former school. Church had just started and we enjoyed listening to the Greek... More

Although only sections remain, particularly the North Tower, you can gain a clear impression of the height and dominance of the original castle. Well with a visit

A unique picturesque and beautiful panoramic view. The architecture with the closed big and small doors hides beautiful gardens and an elegance but very strict way of life. Worth to see..
