Family of four (12 and 9 year olds) had an amazing day exploring inner Naxos. This was truly a unique experience we never could have put together ourselves. The honeybees, Cheese making, and pottery studio may be the highlighted parts of the tour but the best part was really just seeing a little bit of Traditional Greek life at each stop. We felt like invited guests at private homes! Everyone was so lovely and the food delicious. Highly recommend and feel price is justified by how many people are involved in making the day so special.

We did the kids farm tour (4 adults, 5 energetic and curious boys ages 3-10). It was FANTASTIC and one of our favorite things in all of Greece (we travelled around for almost 2 weeks). We had 3 stops: a sheep and goat farm, a local potter and a beekeeper (this one was located in a small village which was a beautiful walk). We really enjoyed getting out of the coastal area (which is still lovely) to the relatively tourist-free, beautiful rural inland areas. We felt like we were discovering a different universe! We loved meeting "authentic" Naxian people whose primary occupations are not to interact with tourists (but who were so welcoming), and we loved that this tour supported and helped sustain their work. Our guide, Alex, was filled with information (telling us history, interesting stories, and pointing out interesting things along the way) and our kids loved engaging with him. He made the bus rides almost as fun as the stops themselves. We would have missed so many interesting things without him. One thing to realize ahead of time- there are options (but no pressure) to purchase things at 2 of the stops, but cash is required (unlike the coast where cards are almost always accepted).

Eleni just blew us away with our custom tour. I can only describe it as the perfect tour. We have been all over Europe and taken many tours, and an overwhelming majority of them have been excellent, however this was a step above what any of those were able to provide. Part of it is due, of course, to the magnificence of Eleni, another part of the equation is her amazing partners that she works with, and the last part is Naxos itself. Philema really just knocks it out of the park from every angle.

I would suggest doing the exact tour we did, as I cannot imagine a better experience. Ask for details on the tour that Richard and Laura did and you will be rewarded with a once in a lifetime experience. I think the thing that stands out most to me is that we never had that inevitable slump in the tour where we are starting to get slightly tired or bored and you give your spouse that Ughh look. We had a blast the whole time, the day absolutely sped by and then we hung out at Konstantinos's wine bar who owns the vineyard we toured until the wee hours of the morning. Just a lovely man, who happens to own the best wine bar in Naxos.

In sum, it is absolutely worth every penny, and I highly suggest taking a customized tour.

Our family of 6 adults spent an incredible 10 hours with Eleni on a custom tour. We didn't know what to expect. I had requested a full day to visit and experience non-touristy Naxos. Wow! She exceeded our expectations. Our family spent a memorable day visiting parts of Naxos and people that we will never forget! Incredible! Thank you again, Eleni! We wish you continued success and health!

We are a family of 6 adults and an almost 8 year old. We chose to do a full day tour including cheese making, animals, and an olive oil tasting.

We were met at 9 am by our driver in a spacious van, and Alex, our wonderful, warm hearted, knowledgeable and kind guide. Alex shared so much with us about the culture, history and values of the people of Naxos. He had a special way with kids, he's a dad himself, and really connected with our granddaughter.

Our first stop was to Maria and Jiannis' farm. They are the sweetest, most welcoming couple. They treated us to a lovely lunch in their kitchen. All of the delicious food was freshly prepared from their gardens and made by Maria, who is a terrific cook. She even teaches cooking classes!

After lunch Jiannis taught us how to make fresh cheese. It was a hands on experience and we had so much fun. While the cheese was setting, we played with, and fed the goats, watched the peacocks strut around and visited the cheese aging room. Then we were able to taste the warm cheese we had made, with honey, salt, or both. Amazing!

From there we went to Maria and Nikko's beautiful olive grove and home. They too are a wonderful, friendly and talented couple. We walked through the grove with Nikko, learning about growing, harvesting and producing olive oil, as well as talking about life in general. Maria set up a lovely olive oil tasting for us among the trees. We talked, and tasted, and hated to leave, because we felt such a true connection with them.

We finished the day with a visit to an olive oil shop and a modern olive oil press. At each stop we were greeted with warmth and amazing Greek hospitality.

We had an outstanding day and are so grateful to Alex for allowing us a glimpse into the people and way of life on Naxos.

Eleni worked with us to create a personalized tour. Due to the wildfires, we had to skip a few places and Eleni put together a fantastic agenda (a mix of the whole island tour and the north tour). I have always wanted to see a traditional olive oil press and she arranged for this as well. Our guide Alex was fantastic and so was our driver Sakis. Together they took us around Naxos starting with the temple of Demeter, village of Hali, pottery making and finally a beautiful beach place near Lionas Bay. We had some of the freshest fish at a fantastic restaurant by the beach run by a lovely family. The beach was spectacular ! We returned back to Chora after a nearly 8 hour trip. I highly recommend Eleni and the Philemon Food Tours.

The best! We had such an amazing time on this tour. We were taken to a small village to meet a husband and wife who showed us everything about bees and honey. They had it set up in one of the best little areas along the cliff side of Milo. We ventured to a town where we sampled fresh local ice cream and walked around a little. To an amazing red clay 4th generation clay pottery place. They were so nice and ended up having them ship product home to the US for us. We loved it.
Last- but definitely not least. We were treated to a farm that made goat cheese. From beginning to end with us. They shared the steps it takes to make the cheese. During that time the kids were given an opportunity to play with the goats/ sheep/ and peacocks. The wife made us a traditional Greek lunch- AMAZING.
Depy was so nice and very informative on this tour. Such an amazing day

Eleni personalized a tour package for our family. She was very responsive and heard our needs and curated a perfect tour for us. Temple or Demeter, learning about old olive oil making and tasting a variety of oils. Loved seeing the 5th generation pottery making. We were able to order some cool items that they would be shipping for us. It was a tour with such character. The finale was of course the beach at Lionas. Amazing secluded beach. A finale of a great lunch at the tavern by the beach. Alex our tour guy was fantastic. He was knowledgeable and knew a lot of stuff. Being a native Naxian we got to know some cool stuff. The driver Sakis did a fantastic job of driving us safe. We had great conversations given his stay abroad. All in all a fantastic day and trip. Highly recommend this company.

My husband and I spent the day with Eleni and her wonderful driver. We can’t say enough about our experience with them both. We started out as clients and felt like friends by the time we concluded.
Meeting Miss Maria and Mr Yannis at their farm where she had prepared a magnificent array of Greek food and watched/learned how to make the delicious cheese was a very intimate experience. Such lovely people! This was followed by a lovely drive through several villages and stops with a local Potter then an authentic lunch where we tasted specialties of the area that we probably would not have ever ordered without Eleni’s suggestions. Then the final stop was a beautiful family vineyard where we met the winemaker and tasted his wine at a lovely cottage in the vineyard. What a truly magical experience! Thank you so much for the memories Eleni! You are doing what you are passionate about and it shows!
My only regret is we were not on the island long enough to do the full moon dinner/tasting! Next time!

Eleni, your incredibly charming and engaging guide, will pick you up, with a driver, in a lovely Mercedes van at your accommodation and all you need to do is relax and enjoy the trip. You will have the chance to see Yannis and Maria’s working goat farm, meet their goats and their adorable collie ‘Harry’. You will see how Maria’s artisanal goat cheese is made AND you will make the famous Naxian goat cheese. COME HUNGRY because the homemade array of Greek pastries (savory and sweet) and cheeses is outstanding. Then, you will visit Yiorgos’ vineyard and learn about Naxos’ dry farming methods. Constantinos, the very passionate winemaker, will serve you several of his delicious wines. Eleni has put together a delightful slice of Naxos life -we thoroughly enjoyed it.
