We had specifically asked if we would do some sailing. We were assured this would be a sailing experience, but unfortunately like most other Catamaran "sailing day-trips" in the Mediterranean, for some unknown reason, they never seem willing to actually put up the sails and SAIL. We had partial sail up for a small percentage of the time, but the noisy engine was always on, we were motor-sailing, not sailing.
I have been a sailor all my life and also a charter captain myself. I know that it would have been perfectly safe to sail without the motor, at least for some or most of the down-wind leg of our journey. Maybe they like to use the engines to cover a greater distance, but if they are not willing to actually SAIL, they should not sell it as a SAILING experience.
We felt there could have been a little more communication between the skipper and the guests and we were not happy with the muscles in tomato sauce and rice for lunch, it is not everybody's cup of tea! The wine and beer were ok and the melons were lovely.
We were a little disappointed they did not go to Koufonisi as mentioned, and we wonder if they ever do!
It was very rough going back (into the wind, big waves and swell) with strong Meltemi wind blowing, if you think you might be subject to seasickness, you should take medication one hour before you set sail, in view of the local weather, I would suggest their sales pitch should give this advice or even offer the inexpensive pills for free, as soon as the guests arrive on board (as I used to do in the UK with my own guests).
