About
Vioma means experience. The word Vioma comes from the verb vio or bio which means ‘to live’. It‘s the experience that we gain throughout our lives, which forms our character and gives in our daily life unique meaning. ‘Vioma’ provides experiences to whoever would like to immerse themselves in the Naxian way of life. On an island where history has aided in the formation of a wealthy and stable cultural infrastructure, our unique gastronomy and culture allow us to generously share our bounty with our friends. Cookery lessons, activities and cultural events will take place all year round in chosen areas of Naxos, enabling visitors to familiarize themselves with the island’s natural wealth and way of life. Katerina and Maria were wonderful hosts. We made a eggplant with bolognese sauce that was beautiful! We were 4 parents and 3 young adults/teens. Katerina was very kind and kept the kids engaged and busy. Her English is very good (we don’t speak Greek). She even sent us on our way with snacks for the beach - and provided some great food and beach recommendations for our time on the island! Thank you Katerina and Maria for hosting us!!

This was an incredible experience! We LOVED our night spent w/ Katarina and our kids created the most amazing meal with her. The food was delicious, we saw a quaint, Naxos town and learned about their daily life and history. This was an experience like no other - and all 5 of our teenagers said this was their best meal in all of Greece and their favorite excursion. It was amazing! Thank you, Katarina, for such a special evening!!!

This was our favorite part about visiting Naxos. My husband and I came on our honeymoon and took the culinary experience tour. It was amazing! Not only did we get to see so much of the Island (the amazing villages, the town, the castle, etc). We loved that we were able to make cheese pies in the village and have a home cooked meal in Katerina’s home. All the different foods we tried were also amazing. We were full the rest of the day, but it was completely worth it! We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who comes to Naxos. You will not regret it!!! Thank you for the amazing hospitality!

What an absolute delight!!! We were welcomed into Katerina’s childhood home with her mom in the mist charming village. With fresh Naxos produce and supplies we prepared such a gorgeous meal with traditional flavors and amazing conversation. We were able to stroll the local streets a bit while our food finished cooking and then shared a beautiful meal with Katerina and her mother. Katerina’s English is fantastic and the recipes are from her family, which she shares! We can’t wait to invite friends over for a home cooked Greek meal when we get home! The experience was about 3 hours and was worth it! Thank you.

My husband and I had amazing experiences with Katerina throughout our honeymoon on Naxos, including (1) a private walking food tour of Naxostown and (2) a personalized private cooking class in Katerina's home and village. Katerina was very knowledgeable, kind, and friendly. The cooking class was a major highlight of the honeymoon and we still use the recipes we learned!

My husband and I came to Naxos for our honeymoon and had a lovely evening with Katerina on her Cycladic Wine Tasting tour. We tasted 7 Greek wines, expertly paired with delicious local cuisine. Katerina was a delight to speak with and answered all of our questions. We booked the tour through our travel agent and did not really know what to expect but we are SO HAPPY we did, it blew away any expectation we had!! If you’re visiting Naxos, you should definitely book a tour with Katerina!

For an absolutely wonderful experience, book a cooking lesson with Caterina and her mother in their home on Naxos. Caterina is delightful and with her mother watching everything, you prepare a menu….hands on which will become your dinner for the evening. My husband and I plan to reproduce the dishes at home. We loved cooking with Caterina.

An amazing experience for our family of 5! 2 adults and 3 children had an amazing time with Katarina. The food was delicious (rooster!) And the hospitality was next level. We felt so honored to share in the cultural experience and be welcomed into the home so openly. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

My family enjoyed our cooking class with Katerina!

We took the bus from the harbor where we were staying up to Chalki (~30 minute ride; be sure to allow time to buy bus tix in advance from the local bakery as they are not sold on board or at the bus stop itself). Katerina met us at the Chalki bus stop by the church & drove us 2 minutes to her family’s tiny town (population 30 in winter!).

The class is held in her family’s home (a summer flat) - as we walked from the car we waved to her various cousins, aunts & uncle - and her mother Maria did much of the behind the scenes cleanup. I was delighted that our daughters got a glimpse into “how real Greeks live”, in contrast to our hotel.

This is not a professional cooking school - no high end pots, pans, tools, ovens - it’s just a chance to learn family recipes in someone’s home.

Katerina did a wonderful job engaging all three of our kids with whatever needed to be done (measuring rice, slicing potatoes, coring peppers etc.) and was very supportive & enthusiastic. Everything was very well organized and neat. We prepared stuffed tomatoes & peppers, yogurt dip and cheese stuffed crescent rolls. Everyone was involved in the cooking. I appreciated how well Katerina adjusted the menu to perfectly suit the varied food needs of our family (one vegetarian; one with a bunch of food allergies).

While everything baked we went for a brief tour of her village (and played with cats, much to the girls’ delight) and then enjoyed a very filling meal with local cheeses, her family’s olive oil over a Greek salad, what we’d prepared and a very tasty orange cake. We even got to bring the leftovers with us to enjoy more cheese crescents later.

We had a few minutes in town to wander & enjoy and then we were back on the bus to town and the beach!

Our family enjoyed our cooking class and Katerina & Maria were unfailingly gracious and warm. Katerina emailed the recipes to us which our girls are looking forward to trying at home!

We would absolutely recommend.
