About
Vioma means experience. The word Vioma comes from the verb vio or bio which means ‘to live’. It‘s the experience that we gain throughout our lives, which forms our character and gives in our daily life unique meaning. ‘Vioma’ provides experiences to whoever would like to immerse themselves in the Naxian way of life. On an island where history has aided in the formation of a wealthy and stable cultural infrastructure, our unique gastronomy and culture allow us to generously share our bounty with our friends. Cookery lessons, activities and cultural events will take place all year round in chosen areas of Naxos, enabling visitors to familiarize themselves with the island’s natural wealth and way of life. Katerina and Maria were wonderful hosts. We made a eggplant with bolognese sauce that was beautiful! We were 4 parents and 3 young adults/teens. Katerina was very kind and kept the kids engaged and busy. Her English is very good (we don’t speak Greek). She even sent us on our way with snacks for the beach - and provided some great food and beach recommendations for our time on the island! Thank you Katerina and Maria for hosting us!!

This was an incredible experience! We LOVED our night spent w/ Katarina and our kids created the most amazing meal with her. The food was delicious, we saw a quaint, Naxos town and learned about their daily life and history. This was an experience like no other - and all 5 of our teenagers said this was their best meal in all of Greece and their favorite excursion. It was amazing! Thank you, Katarina, for such a special evening!!!

My family and I love exploring a new culture through food and we wanted to experience a little of Naxos via village life. Our holiday organisers, Greece Insiders (also 5 stars) organised for us to spend the morning cooking with Katerina and her mum in a village about 30 mins from the main town.
As soon as we arrived at Katerina’s family home, we were made to feel so welcome and offered a selection of treats.
From there we learned to cook moussaka and pastitsio, delicious tzatziki and cheese pockets (sorry forgotten the name). We all had a great time learning Mama’s techniques and tricks. After the meal was ready to go in the oven we were invited to walk around the traditional village admiring the 500 year old olive trees, beautiful houses and olive oil museum, yes tastings are welcome.
After our allotted walking time we meandered back to Katerina’s home and sat to enjoy our labours. My goodness such wonderful food and so much of it. As we ate, we told stories and swapped experiences from our respective countries. It was more like having lunch with friends than teacher and students.
We highly recommend this experience, one of the highlights of our stay on Naxos.

This was our favorite part about visiting Naxos. My husband and I came on our honeymoon and took the culinary experience tour. It was amazing! Not only did we get to see so much of the Island (the amazing villages, the town, the castle, etc). We loved that we were able to make cheese pies in the village and have a home cooked meal in Katerina’s home. All the different foods we tried were also amazing. We were full the rest of the day, but it was completely worth it! We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who comes to Naxos. You will not regret it!!! Thank you for the amazing hospitality!

This class was one of the main highlights of our trip! Katerina and her mom welcomed us into their home where we made goat in red wine sauce, feta appetizers, zucchini fritters, tzatziki sauce and lemon potatoes, which was one of the best homemade meals we've had in a long time! Katerina even emailed us the recipes from that lunch along with many others! We also took a stroll around the village, including a stop at Folklore museum and oil press shop - the most charming place with very picturesque photo spots. Thank you to Katerina - your hospitality and food passion made our trip unforgettable!

What an absolute delight!!! We were welcomed into Katerina’s childhood home with her mom in the mist charming village. With fresh Naxos produce and supplies we prepared such a gorgeous meal with traditional flavors and amazing conversation. We were able to stroll the local streets a bit while our food finished cooking and then shared a beautiful meal with Katerina and her mother. Katerina’s English is fantastic and the recipes are from her family, which she shares! We can’t wait to invite friends over for a home cooked Greek meal when we get home! The experience was about 3 hours and was worth it! Thank you.

My husband and I had amazing experiences with Katerina throughout our honeymoon on Naxos, including (1) a private walking food tour of Naxostown and (2) a personalized private cooking class in Katerina's home and village. Katerina was very knowledgeable, kind, and friendly. The cooking class was a major highlight of the honeymoon and we still use the recipes we learned!

My husband and I came to Naxos for our honeymoon and had a lovely evening with Katerina on her Cycladic Wine Tasting tour. We tasted 7 Greek wines, expertly paired with delicious local cuisine. Katerina was a delight to speak with and answered all of our questions. We booked the tour through our travel agent and did not really know what to expect but we are SO HAPPY we did, it blew away any expectation we had!! If you’re visiting Naxos, you should definitely book a tour with Katerina!

For an absolutely wonderful experience, book a cooking lesson with Caterina and her mother in their home on Naxos. Caterina is delightful and with her mother watching everything, you prepare a menu….hands on which will become your dinner for the evening. My husband and I plan to reproduce the dishes at home. We loved cooking with Caterina.

An amazing experience for our family of 5! 2 adults and 3 children had an amazing time with Katarina. The food was delicious (rooster!) And the hospitality was next level. We felt so honored to share in the cultural experience and be welcomed into the home so openly. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
