While you can't go inside and there is no English documentation, this is worth a short walk to see the interesting gothic remains with photographic opportunities shooting through the remains into the surrounding landscape. There are several different walking path options from short(2km) to long (12km). The shortest is a direct walk from the town. Note that there are quite... More

You can't go inside, but it's worth the pleasant walk up to the location and taking a look at the beautiful architecture. It also offers great views of Bacharach and the Rhine River.

This was a sort of ruined chapel above the town of Bacharach. There was a good view of the town from there, and a large panel with information in German, which must have informed German speakers about the origins and history of the place. I have seldom visited a tourist attraction in France without a multi lingual information board, but... More

There's a sad story behind the construction of this now ruined Chapelle. Take the stairs up to the terrace and take in the view of the town. Bacharach is a beautiful town, worth visiting just to walk around and take it all in. The fantastically preserved medieval buildings are some of the best you will see. We loved visiting here.

Nothing as sadly beautiful as the ribbed and vaulted ruins of an old chapel. All the iconic wonders burned away leaving yet the soaring grace of stone upon stone... and here, the sour taste story of the supposed C17 jewish ritual murder of the young aryan boy, Werner, which had the chosen people once again exiled and slaughtered and their... We stopped by the town of Bacarah and climbed to the castle which was very hard. On the way up we sopped by these ruins and there were very nice. Loved this nice little town !

Ruin of a Gothic chapel dating back to 1300 and landmark Bacharach. Behind the St Peter's church steep stairs lead to the location. One can walk around the ruin but its visivle interior is blocked. One had built 150 years on this chapel, which was developed from the former Kunibertkapelle (a still unfinished Gothic ruin), the planned expansion of the... More
