Great photo op

Definitely worth a quick stop for a quick photo shoot. There were some nice spots by the river that you could picnic by. For us it was a quick pull off coming down from the mountain to snap some pics.

Place for a picnic
Jul 2020 • Family
Great place to stop, take pictures, listen to the babble of the creek rush by, and have a picnic. Boys played football on the green. A lovely afternoon.

Sinking Creek Covered Bridge
Jun 2019
The Sinking Creek Covered Bridge was one of my favorite bridges that I photographed while a friend and I were in the area taking pictures of the beautiful covered bridges. I found this bridge to be very maintainrd and clean and the surrounding scenery was just perfectfor a backdrop for such a beautiful peice of history. I recommend checking out the Sinking Creek Covered Bridge along with the other covered bridges, if you are ever in the area. You will not be disappointed !!

Worth getting out and looking up close!

Take your time and walk around - features of the bridge and the area need time to sink in, and to let you reflect on its age and who built it and how. These are such lovely suspended sheds!

Nothing Special
Sep 2018 • Couples
We stopped by a couple of covered bridges in the local area that are a couple miles apart from each other. Although they meet the bill they are nothing special from what we have seen in other parts of the country. They are still worth stopping by to see if you are in the area and take a few photos.

Don't miss this!!

I visit my parents in Blacksburg every four months or so, and ask to come each time. It's wonderful to experience a time that has long past, and feel what it was like in the early 1900s. This historic bridge is really nicely made over a running creek. No matter the time of year , it's worth it.

Worth The Stop If You Are In The Area
Jul 2017 • Couples
The covered bridge was really well kept. The bridge, built in 1916, is 70-foot-long with a tin roof. They have Christmas ornaments you could order to help support the bridge, but there were no order forms when we visited. We love to pick up ornaments while on vacation (our Christmas tree tells the tale of all our travels) and we would have ordered one. There is also a book to sign when visiting as well.

Great spot for a quiet picnic lunch.

Well Preserved Covered Bridge
Sep 2017 • Couples
This covered bridge, 70 feet in length, is also known as the Clover Hollow Bridge. It was built in 1916 and is maintained by Giles County. It was left in place for the property owner when a new bridge was built circa 1949.The bridge, built with modified Howe trusses, is beautifully maintained and well worth a stop to walk around and take a few photos.

Beautiful bridge
Oct 2017 • Couples
On our way to Mountain Lake Lodge we passed by this bridge an immediately turned around to go see it. There are 2 entrances and one of them has a No Trespassing sign posted so we went to the other entrance. There was a gate so we didn’t walk down to it, I wish we could have.

It is so picturesque an beautifully maintained. If you are in the area definitely stop by for a few minutes.
