A very colourful little place to visit where you will find no end of workshops, transforming the little fishermen cabins into interesting local businesses. Cafés and restaurants abound and there are toilets too.

This is a lovely spot for photography with the most picturesque huts being the original dilapidated fishing huts with all of their fishing paraphernalia propped up outside. Some nice places to eat fresh seafood and a couple of lovely interior design shops, although I wouldn't...More

We visited in mid June, when most of Oleron was sleepy, but these cabanes were busy with what seemed to be a couple of coach parties. There was more room to walk around after they all disappeared at about 4.30pm. Most of the artists at...More

Nice to walk by this cabanas. Maps navigation is a bit wrong but you walk by it anyway. Looks very nice :). Best to combinate this with a visit to chateaux castle. Its walking distance from each other. They have good restaurants in the centre.

Unfortunately it was cloudy this day and the colours were desaturated. The houses are spread in the neighbourhood allowing a little walk. Eventually not that a big deal.

Quite unique area for shopping (real local hand-made products), walking, eating, and taking pictures. All "cabanes" are native Oyster production wooden constructions built along the canal. Plan to spend at least one hour but, I know you will come back.

Visited while on holiday with the other half. Truly beautiful place. The artists have done an amazing job on these little fishing shacks and it makes for a wonderful walk. Lots of little bars, restaurants and shops, also plenty of local produce and craftwork.

I found this on google and it was not listed in any of the tourist guides. What a find! We had one of the best days on out holiday here. It is a converted fishing village where each shack has been brightly painted and houses...More

Near the castle this area is really nice (especially during high tide - "maree haute" in French). Jump from one cabin to the other and shop small souvenirs there. Try to avoid the busy hours if possible but except that it's a must to do...More
