This was my third trip back to Sancerre, France and this wonderful language school. I attended from January 16 to January 27. Yes, it was winter and cold, but the atmosphere inside the classroom was warm, welcoming, and very stimulating. Marianne was our instructor for two weeks and she did an amazing job. She demonstrated the patience and instructional skill... More

First, I was so pleased to find myself among learners and improvers of a mixed age range. My sole aim for the week was to kick start my aspiration and fading ability to speak passable French. In that respect, Cœur de France hit the target. I particularly liked the variable structure of the course and the flexible programme which allowed... More

I attended Coeur de France for a week in October with the aim of improving my speaking and listening. Staying in Sancerre was a wonderful experience. My teacher Beth was very patient and understanding. She also made learning fun by taking us into the local stores and to a nearby market so that we could speak in French with the... More

Having traveled for many years to an artisan folk school in the mountains of N.C., I knew how wonderful it could be to live and learn in a warmly caring community of committed teachers and students. I did not know that in later years, I would again experience such incomparable joy in a small hilltop village in France. After my... More

November 7, 2016 My husband and I recently had an opportunity to participate in a two week couples course at Le Coeur de France in Sancerre, France. The school is located in an historic building in a medieval village in the Loire valley. Although we had spent two years studying French at our local community college, our practical skills were... What an amazing experience I had at this language school in Sancerre. Starting with the welcome on our arrival on the Saturday evening, we were given an overview of local facilities and attractions before being shown to our various apartments. My apartment Balzac was lovely, having been recently renovated; it was comfortable and could easily accommodate a couple. The staff... More
Bonjour Ruth, Thank you for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed your experience at Coeur de France! I'm sorry that you found your taxi fare for your return to the train station rather expensive. As you know we advise students that the cost is about 40 euros (which can be shared with others in the taxi), but it's true that... More

I just spent two weeks at the Coeur de France school in order to sharpen my French speaking and comprehension skills. Two weeks was the perfect amount of time: at the end of my week-1 group class I could identify specific areas to work on, and the school was flexible enough to allow me to get in a few one-on-one... Bonjour, Thanks for your feedback. I agree, 2 weeks is a good length of time for most people. The first week is useful to settle down and get used to studying French everyday and being immersed in a French-only world. The second week is typically when students start to see themselves really improving quickly. Marianne and I are happy that... More
