Just a couple of weeks ago, we visited Henri Bourgeois. The time there could not have been better. Our initial greeter gave us the opportunity to taste a number of excellent, and very different, wines from different terroirs. Then, we spent time with Zigy (sp??), the wife of Arnaud. She was even more informative and hospitable and we even got to taste a wine from the family cellars. The displays of the profiles of the various soils in which the wines are grown was especially well done. We most certainly will be purchasing their wines here in California

Had a lovely couple of hours at Henri Bourgeois winery. Lovely to see the actual vines close up, the winery, fermenting wines and the private family cellar. All wonderfully explained by the lovely Phillipine who was our own personal guide. Tasting was interesting - great wines, not to mention the local cheese. Cost of visit was well worth it. Wines a bit expensive to purchase at the winery.

Henri Bourgeois provides several options for trying their wines. We splurged on a private tour, and it did not disappoint. Our guide was charming, and extremely knowledgeable. His English was very good and he worked hard to explain everything to us as clearly as possible. Excellent wines, and a great example of the variety in Sancerre production. I booked the tour before we left the US. Super easy on their website. We are so grateful to have had this opportunity. Can’t wait to find their wines when we return to the states.

We've been on quite a few wine tours personally (Napa Valley, South Africa, Bordeaux, Lisbon, Australia, etc.) and this was one of the best ones. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. Our guide (whose name we cannot remember) was very friendly, warm, and knowledgable. They take you to various parts of the winery, including the original cellar (this part was fascinating) and explain how they make the wine. The surrounding views are absolutely stunning. You may want to try to go when the weather is beautiful so you can really appreciate the location. The wines were top notch and they allow for a pretty substantial tasting. Our guide had us taste several wines and based on what we liked, she was able to steer us towards the kinds of wines we'd prefer. She basically catered the wine tasting to our preferences, which we have not experienced at a winery elsewhere. You can also opt to include a goat cheese tasting with the wine -- this cheese was delicious but they give you SO much. If you choose to go with this option, make sure you have a pretty empty stomach -- between the two of us, we could barely even finish half of it even though it tasted so good and was seriously addicting. We highly recommend coming here!

This was our first stop in Sancerre! It was quite busy, but the gentleman working did a great job and was super helpful- he even spoke a very good amount of English. Their rose in unbelievable! To be honest, though, all of the wines we had were great. I wish this had been our last stop instead of our first, as it was the best wine we had that day, I would highly recommend Henri Bourgeois for wine!

This was our first stop in Sancerre, before we even got to the apartment. We just knew we had some really nice wine from this wine house at restaurants, so we just “had to go there”. They were very nice and helpful! I think we tried about 6 different wines (for free) and of course we bought our favorites to take home!

Made a reservation to tour that included a guided tour, wine tasting and cheese. WOW! Cigi our guide spent 3 and 1/2 hours with us. She was wonderful : knowledgeable, English speaking, and so FUN! It was like having a friend give us a tour and then have us in for wine and cheese. Sampled many of their fabulous wines. Can't say enough about the experience!

We enjoyed a wonderful tour of the family's property and wine making process. We ran out of time to complete the tasting and they graciously offered to let us come back after lunch to finish the tasting. Very friendly staff and nice wines.

There is a reason this wine maker produces such elegant Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumè wines, they just have it right. With over 27 different wines to explore there is one for everyone. The tasting rooms are well equipped and welcoming.

This week I am visiting French wine regions with my elder son (28) with objective to meet with wine makers and to rediscover wine regions I did not visit for long.
Today we stopped at Sancerre to visit Henri Bourgeois, one if the oldest and best in town. 2 hours visit on the winery and tasting if some wonderful "crus". We bought 3 boxes (18 bottles). Marvelous time and great value for money.
