I visited this island via a wheeled boat. Only a few minutes from the mainland. The fort buildings have very good signage and the museum is very detailed. I enjoyed the botanical garden. I do wish more signs in the museum had been in English,...More

At low tide the walk out to Tatihou is easy, otherwise take the amphibious boat. The old military is in good condition and worth the climb for the 360 view, if it's nesting season beware of the gulls that will swoop down on you if...More

An ideal place to spend a half day in fair weather. It starts with a very unusual 15 minute car/boat journey across the oyster beds to the historic and green island. One warning, the ferry departure point changes by a km depending on the tide!

Tatihou is a beautiful island a very short trip away from Saint Vaast la Hougue. To get there you take the very quirky/French amphibious ferry which in itself is an experience particularly if the water is low. Alternatively you can walk across the causeway at...More

Tatihou is not just for history buffs ( though they'll be delighted); it's beautiful, unspoiled, easily strolled (about 45 minutes to walk the whole coast) and easily reached. At low tide, you can walk across from St Vaast. Or you can pretend you're storming Omaha...More
