This shop has more stuff packed into it than some WW2 museums! The guy who runs it speaks English too and is really knowledgeable and what he is selling. He is getting in new items all the time.

There really is something for everyone here ranging from a euro or two for a bullet to airplane parts!

After spending the day at Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery we made our way to Arromanches and found this store. It's small but there are several display cases of memorabilia in 2 rooms. Some items are very expensive but the owner (?) spoke English and helped us view some items that were locked away. Overall an impressive collection.

Everything here is extremely expensive and sells for 2 to 4 times as much as you can find them elsewhere. Bought me an M1892 jumper trumpet that would be an American military jumper, but it was a civilian jumper that you can find for 200kr on different sides. After I bought it for 2000kr and went back I saw that he had put there a new trumpet that cost the same but was in a much worse condition. I didn't get my money back but got some other items as an exchange. I definitely lost out because many of the items I chose are ones you can find cheaply. I do not recommend this store for those who like antique. There is a much better place around the corner for antiquity, which is also a museum

My wife and I were here on a tour. Unfortunately, time was limited, else I would have gone into the Museum there. As it was, we were able to get an idea of what this area 'contributed' to the WWII effort.
The shops were also good.
Huge "breakers" set up to mitigate some of the strong waves that would come onto shore, thus possibly disrupting Allies' boats. This was supposed to have been one of Winston Churchill's ideas. A temporary port, meant to be used for couple months, was used for 5 months. Mulberry Harbor became Port Winston. Almost 3 million men, millions of tons of supplies and 1/2 million vehicles arrived at Port Winston - amazing and hard to imagine over 2-3 months.

BTW: If you want a Normandy cap showing June 6, 1944 - this is the place to shop. After we left Arromanches, a couple of the other tourists saw my cap and wanted one, but we never saw any caps like mine anywhere in France.
We also met a 98-year old WWII survivor that fought here and it was nice to have a short chat with him.
All in all, wish we had more time, but that's one of the problems with a tour. Still, we enjoyed the brief hour+ here.
